For me it was when first heard the intro to "We Eat Rhythm (Jungle Mix)" on the "Electronic Punks" VHS back in 1995.
I was like holy shit thats awesome, then during the video i first heard clips of "Now Hear Dis" and "Rock 'n' Roll". Then of course during the credits i got to hear a longer We Eat Rhythm (Jungle Mix) and "Molotov Bitch"
So that was four tracks i had never heard at that point and i remember thinking, if they are on that video Liam is bound to release them, we got 1 "Molotov Bitch" on Firestarter and i remember being really annoyed that "Firestarter Instrumental" was on instead of "We Eat Rhythm (Jungle Mix)"
Thats when it started for me lol
13 years later nothing has changed, we are doomed to have bad quality versions of awesome tracks by this band!

I'm so fucked off that Dead Ken Beats isn't on Lost Beats EP I can't tell you. Liam is a music genius, but some of the decisions he makes are absurd. It's all the more annoying when he blatantly lies to the fans. He said Dead Ken Beats would be on Lost Beats but renamed, is it fuck. He said We Eat Rhythm would be on Their law The Singles disc 2, yeeeah right. What about Wake up Call Full Vocal Mix being a b-side? Oooook. And No Souvenirs being too good to put on a soundtrack, but it's good enough to put on a shelf to collect dust for a decade and counting?... I was also really looking forward to Disco Punks, but at the last minute that got dropped, or at least it seems to have been.
Then there's the fact that a lot of tracks get released that are far worse than the great tracks which never see the light of day. How does this make sense? Is the only excuse because they work live only? That isn't true though because a lot of these tracks would and could work very well in the studio, I'm sure of it. Maybe Gabba is more of a live only track, and Benny Blanco. But most are far more than that. Mescaline would have been ideal for Lost Beats but no, we are told it might be a b-side. With more lies from Liam lately it's hardly worth believing sadly. What about Trigger? We got the shitty Shoot Down instead, I mean what the hell? That synth breakdown in Trigger was amazing but has never happened...
On one hand Liam seems to struggle with ideas on albums so he takes years and years, but then he's throwing all these gems away? I don't get it. Even that Osaka Fill, what an amazing piece of music. That would have been great on AONO. First Warning, what about original Warning which was better? What about the vocals? And what about Heatwave Hurricane?... Oh but he release The Shadow. Yeah because releasing a worse track makes sense… So this can’t be a quality issue anymore like we used to think.
I also don't get why Worlds On Fire got ruined either. Some of the decisions from this prodigal genius boggle my mind. It frustrates me to even think about...
Yeah I’m ranting, and yeah I am very grateful for the new album which absolutely rules. But I still stand by everything I said above…

Yeah he does confuse me sometimes, i guess after so many years you just roll with it and its one of those frustrating things being a prodigy fan.
When i heard that shitty rip of 'we do what we want' i could not believe nothing more was developed from it as it sounds fucking lethal!
Maybe one day we will hear some gems but who knows

"we do want the fuck we want" was the last draw for me, back in 1999 i heard the live recording from a prodigy fansite and people were buzzing we all thought "This is the next single" it was like a response to them being told not to play smack my bitch up at a festival by the beastie boys! when i learned that it was dumped i could not believe it, that track to sounded like the basis of an EP/album which could have been released in 2000.
It was even announced at the beginning of the athens recording "This is new to you"
The maxim vocal on that track was his best, it almost had an industrial vibe - a more vicious sounding posion. "Show Me The Emperor" - what an awesome lyric.
Liam is bound to have that track somewhere on his old equipment., im sure maxim remembers the lyrics and could record vocals for it again, if has not done already. Im sure they rehearsed it and maybe made recordings. Anyone have a better quality recording of it?, i cant find much info on it!
Maybe i should get a time machine and go back and as Liam is about press delete i would run over say NOOOOOOO! DONT FUCKING DO IT!
lol
Anyway i think after we buy the new album and its singles, we should start a fan petition, go on strike lol

Yeah we need to set up a fan chat session with him online, totally bombard him with requests!
your right though, that lyric is sick and they sound really raw on that track, pure aggression and spite but nothing came from it!

yeah but some fans cant get to gigs either because
A. They cant afford the tickets
B. The Band dont always play live in your home city/country
C. Travelling to see the band live in another city/country is also expensive

Best things in the world are always more unreachable, it makes it more special
I am sad as any other cause we don't get Dead Ken Beats or Hurricane Heatwave, but we can't do shitt about it but moan can we? just live it and enjoy what we have, we are dealing with a quite an unusal product maker/decider here, i may aswell post it to the "teh drunked thread" cause iam, but face it he is one fucked up fello who makes many other artist wet theyr pants, lets just leave it there

my thought is liam knows how bad we want those tracks , right? so when he runs out of money , he knows he's got enough tunes to release a cd that all of us fans will be dying to buy , easy money , its so obvious

are you suggesting that we should stop buying prodigy music and attending to the shows?

IMO liams ego and overuse of drugs are responsible for this shit. its like he wants to be in 10 places at once style-wise, no direction, trying to find order when there never is with his music, i think he holds most of his creations to high standard in his own mind, otherwise why would he release them? (shit like YBUMW) his opinion is the final word on release, i doubt you could tell him otherwise. i guess his iron fist has gotten the band this far, he thinks theres no reason to allow ppl to challenge his opinions on what should or shouldnt be released.
