I dont.. This is a track made by the master! By Liam Howlett.. The man who gave us the beats like we got in SMBU, Diesel Power, Firestarter, Spitfire, ect ect..

Do you really think that weak and dry snare sound in Thunder Dub is enough?

You really hate this snare drum don't you?

I actually like Thunder Dub

I don't think this track is about the beat...
it's about the main riff and the drums are accenting it
the drums aren't suppose to be the forefront, in your face boom beat
this is all about the main riff
i think that's where Liam lost ya
i find Thunder Dub to be a pretty heavy track
not a beat heavy track, this is a riff heavy track

SMBU on the other hand is about the beat, it's about the kick, and the boom

so i dunno how you can compare the two

it's not like this track is even trying to match the atmosphere of any of those other tracks you listed

this track isn't meant to be big beat

the beat is ok ,, its all about the riff to me . its just so gritty and dirty sounding.

the beat is has more of a 'boom' effect live tho. cus liam uses that bass percussion shit behind his laptops at the same time as each drum beat

the more I think about it...
Thunder Dub really ain't even dubstep or brostep

Its more in the 130bpm range than the usual 140bpm that dubstep sticks around and there is no real wobble

:)

but i still love it and wished Liam would release it
i especially liked that extra little chop bit toward the end of the vid they posted that's not in the live version

release it! i wanna bang this on my system!
and no, the version floating around by fans don't cut it cuz they don't have that extra section that's in the vid.

here's to an x-mas EP of free cut IMD stuff
i can dream can't I?

hate is a strong word. I dont hate the beat. Just think it is very weak for a prodigy track.

Glad to hear that its more powerfull live. I have not heard it live.. So that was good news.

Not every track will work as a studio tune

agree with you... plus I heard it live and my opinion is that this tune was the weakest of the setlist

I understand where you're coming from Mooze, but personally it doesn't bother me.

The one thing that is a big element from Thunder is the powerful snares... I mean... the track is called THUNDER! The drums sound like lightning striking and a thunder. So yeah, I'd love me some loud drums on that track. But it's a remix anyway, so why bother? There's always the album version (which I think is much more interesting).
