In my opinion, one of the most amazing bands to slip through the cracks. This band holds a special place in my life. Woven is a 5 piece experimental electronic rock band from LA. I was lucky enough to see them play in NYC and they were the most down to earth band that I have ever met and quite amazing to watch (especially the two drummers). I was a fan of the band for a couple of years before I got to see them live and wasn't too familiar with them look-wise. Without me knowing who he was, the bassist/singer/keyboardist actually came up to me and my girl waiting outside the venue for a show they were playing at. He was like "Hey, what are you guys doing here?" and me and my girl were like "We're here to see Woven." He was like "Oh, great! My band!" Me and my girl were completely taken aback cuz we had no clue he was part of the band. He actually brought us into the venue early with the band while they loaded in equipment. It was so awesome. He took us up to their equipment truck and introduced us to the whole band. He went up to the band and was like "Hey, these guys came all the way out from Long Island to see us." They all came up and chatted and shook hands, totally chill. While the opening band played, Jonathan the bassist sat with us the whole time and we just chatted away. Amazing guy and he even offered me and my girl to get into the next show in the city for free by putting us on the band list. Man, one of the best experiences with a band in my whole life. Unfortunately. things have gone quiet and no news has come out since the release of their second album "Designer Codes" about the future of Woven. It's sad that this band never grew a bigger following because they definitely deserve it.

On a side note, the first time I met my soon to be girlfriend Erin was at a party with my boss and co-workers. My boss was trying to hook us up the whole time and set it up so that Erin would have to go grab more drinks from 7-11 and I would have to go with her. So I went for the ride with Erin and we started chatting for the first time. She asked me to pick a CD from her CD book to put on while we drove. I opened up the book and there sitting was Woven's first ever release "EPrime." I have never met a single other soul who has even heard of the band yet alone have their CD. I knew from then on that this girl is the one.

so i found the bassist/vocalist Jonathan from Woven on Facebook and we have been chatting. mentioned the time back in '07 we met at the show. starting chatting about music and he showed me some of his new projects since Woven disbanded. i shared some of my own stuff and now he wants to collaborate on a track. it's pretty wild to be working with a member from a group that i love and was very inspirational for some of my very own production. we gonna share some ideas back and forth over the internet and see what develops. i'm scared and excited at the same time. i just wrote him to say hey and how i miss the band... now here we are about to work together.
