Fatboy Slim - Praise You

nice one, my fav song from fatboy.

Yeah well I was listening to the album... and just before Praise You started I was getting bored of the album. But Praise You seemed like a fresh breeze so I left it on. Good track!

Listening to: Radiohead - Reckoner

No. hahaha it's one of the worst cases of stealing samples. Especially if it's done in a shitty way... it could have been sooooo much fatter and better. Instead, we got a lame track without a lot of power. Prodigy is known for sampling and stealing, but THIS... A laugh.

Just listen to the original and then wonder what Liam added:

See, not much. Even the cool melody with the citar was already in there (on 1:12).

I already knew the original man... and i dont care... so what if it's more a remix than an original tune? Nirvana can get away with covering the track for the Bleach record and Prodigy cant present their own take on the track for their own record? Bullshit  I do prefer Liam's take to the original and Nirvana's version i'll tell you that ;) even more deliciously psychedelic.... the original was one of my favourite tunes but i reckon Liam just gave it a better arrangement, beats bass and demented flavour! Replaced the original's place on my mp3 player 8-)

I get what you're saying, ofcourse it's mixed and arranged better but as a place on the album it's just a big nono. hahaha. Phoenix feels more like a joke, or a B-side, a free download, an experimental extra. Not something that's serious enough to place between all these big tracks like Spitfire, Hotride etc. It seems out of place on AONO. I would've prefered Phoenix and YBUMW to be Razor and Back to School instead. More balls, less bullshitting around. Too much experimental stuff that seems aimless and pointless gets me confused. Prodigy in the AONO period is insecure and random, not based on a winning formula. Phoenix is a good example of random stuff. I even remember Liam said that AONO has some fillers; he was talking about YBUMW and also Phoenix, if I remember correctly. I agree with that. Next time, Phoenix-like tracks should be on bonus disks... not something you would wanna have on a album to play in the car. hahaha oh well. I talk too much random stuff myself. I get your point, hope you got mine.

haha yeah i get your point... but "winning formulas" just make for boring albums listens to me... more experimentalism less sitting on your own arse would be best methinks..... Invaders Must Die seems like the perfect example of that to me... fun record but pretty darn formulaic i dare say! Even Wake Up Call revealed more imagination and thought than that record...

I remember Liam really liking Phoenix, while admiting he didnt change much of the original at all... he did refer to Under my wheels as a mere filler record though...

Razor... now that is shit!!!!
