I'm a big fan of El-P. If you haven't heard any of his shit at all, it would be best to start by grabbing his new album now ("I'll Sleep When You're Dead") that just came out March 20th. It's amazing, loving every minute of it. His beats are monstrous, not to mention his emcee skills. One of the reasons I've really loved El's shit is although he has a much different style than Liam Howlett, they both take their music just as serious. This has taken about five years to make, entirely produced by himself. And he doesn't throw a bunch of collaborations on his album. A lot of the collaborations are used like samples. This whole thing is filled with organized chaos. Shit loads of layers. In my opinion this is one of the best albums to come out in a long, long time. Really give this a try. I'll throw a up from the album called "Drive" to give you a taste of how grand this album is. "Drive" - http://rapidshare.com/files/23754464/05-drive.mp3.html El-P "I'll Sleep When You're Dead" 1. I'm gonna revive this thread real quick. Been listening to this album since it came out in March and it is fucking great. If you like Prodigy and hip-hop, then this is the perfect mix. Listen to the track "Run the Numbers" and you will see. That beat is chaotic. |
