V-fest was my first real festival experience. Here's what I have to say.

Overall, I had a very good time.

I stayed in the dance tent, which thankfully was never too crowded.

Shout out out out out - they were a great opener, seemed very into it. I talked to one of the drummers after the show, and he was a really cool guy. I'd give them an 8/10.

Petalpushers - good, but should have been southstage. They were very chill and groovy though. 7/10.

Booka Shade - holy hell! These guys rocked! The drummer and everyone else were really into it. 8 or 9/10

Felix da Housecat - mad set. Opened with "Phantom part 2" by Justice. Also mixed Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up", which is one of my favorite songs of all time! He also threw some Daft Punk and Digitalism into his set, so it was cool to recognize alot of the material. 8 or 9/10.

LCD Soundsystem - Probably the biggest disappointment of the festival for me. James didnt really seem into it, and the setting was just awful. Who the hell put them on a stage like that and not in the dance tent? I would give them a 2nd chance given the club setting 6/10.

The Police - they were good, I was watching them from a distance with the girl i'm dating, and we were very much into it. 8/10.

thats about it for day 1..

day 2:

Dan Deacon - made me want to shove a fork into my ear. 3/10.

Girl Talk - wasnt much better. 4 or 5/10. What was hilarious was that all of the kids showed up to watch Dan and Girl Talk, like i'd say most of the tent was younger than 18. Surely enough, after Girl Talk, the kids left and the adults stayed for...

Dieselboy with MC Messinian - They did great, with Dieselboy opening with "Distress Signal" by Pendullum. However, I really didnt think the sound was loud enough for some reason. I'd give them a 7/10.

Explosions in the Sky - very chill music to sit back and fall asleep to - i'd give them an 8/10. I loved it.

James Zabiela - he was amazing, had some nice freestyle mixes, and a huge smile. I also saw a little girl (must have been 3 years old) dancing backstage, that was just awesome. 8/10.

Infected Mushroom - Wow. After 3 songs, I was tired. Perfect crowd, perfect energy, I love the guitarist and drummer along with them. They opened with "deeply disturbed" and I think the third song was "cities of the future". I loved it - gave them 9/10.

Wu-Tang Clan - I was too far back to be able to get into them, the crowd for them was massive. Plus they suffered from mic problems at the beginning of the show. They get 7/10, but I would have enjoyed it more if I was closer. Oh well.

After that, I met a girl from 98 rock who let me go backstage at the dance tent, and I got to meet Ken from The Crystal Method and then Deep Dish! Awesome experience!

Smashing Pumpkins - good, but yeah where the hell was the encore for that show? I didnt catch enough of them to give them a rating.

stay tuned for pics
