I have some great concert DVDs here at home. To date, Their Law (of course!) and Depeche Mode's Devotional Tour were my favs. Talking about bootleg DVDs, Kaiser Chiefs at Glastonbury 2005 is a killer, too (note: still looking for Phoenix Festival 1996 DVD, if anyone got it, please share or contact me to trade, please.... I'd kill for that one!). Let's go with the story: today, I was walking down the street, and oh man, saw IT. I remember when a teenager, watching that fucking show live, first concert ever that was broadcast live to the whole planet: U2 ZooTV Tour live from Sydney. At those times, I couldn't believe what I was watching, a rock band rocking 'down under' with all those TV sets and big vidiwalls onstage. All those texts that were spat from the vidiwalls, that show which talked about advertising world, mass media culture and rock and roll sex and excess. Just loved it. And today, walking down the streets, on my way to work, saw it on the record shops. AMAZING guys, money well spent. Buy it or die. |
