23-06-2008 //
Following their fifth consecutive number 1 album last year, the Grammy award winning ‘We Are The Night’, The Chemical Brothers return with ‘Brotherhood’ a best of collection with a kick and a twist, set for release on 1st September 2008.
The Chemical Brothers have established themselves as true pioneers of electronic music and have become one of the most popular dance acts of all time. Now seems the perfect time to take stock of their seminal output with the double disc celebration that is Brotherhood.
Brotherhood comprises of 2 discs, the first is a collection of 13 undeniable benchmark Singles from the band's immense back catalogue and new track ‘Keep My Composure’ which features the shimmering flow of Baltimore’s Spank Rock.
The 2nd will feature exclusively Electronic Battle Weapons 1-10. Since 1996 Electronic Battle Weapons have acted as the laboratories for The Chems devious musical experiments and laid the rhythmic and melodic foundations for numerous tracks as well as providing some of the duos most formidable mixes. Until now Electronic Battle Weapons 1-9 have only been available on various limited formats and this is the first time they have been widely available.
Brotherhood will be preceded by the digital download single Midnight Madness on 4th August 2008. Derived and developed from Electronic Battle Weapons 10, Midnight Madness is The Chemical Brothers at their most infectious, euphoric, report to the dancefloor best.

Electronic Battle Weapon 8 made me redefine my view on 'electric' music.
Nice to know all the weapons will be loaded to one disk.

Question:
So disk 1 will have 13 singles, are these new versions/ edits of the tracks? Are these tracks any different from the Singles 93-03 CD?
If these songs are the same damn thing, then this will be totally gay shit / $$$ whores (except for the battle weapon tracks).

Not entirely the same thing! Off course its gonna have some of the singles that has arrived during the 5 years since that time. I would bet Galvanize, Do It Again and maybe All Rights Reserved would be on that disc, along with Keep My Composure.
There's a promo out with an edited version of All Rights Reserved. Maybe it'll get a single release before this album.

Can't see them releasing any more singles from WATN. Midnight Madness will get the digital only release in the run up to the album, plus there is supposedly "B-Sides Vol 2" in the pipeline.

Bit of a rehashed rip off all be told
Quote: DISC 1 01. Galvanize 02. Hey Boy Hey Girl 03. Block Rockin' Beats 04. Do It Again 05. Believe 06.Star Guitar 07. Let Forever Be (Featuring Noel Gallagher) 08. Leave Home 09. Keep My Composure (Featuring Spank Rock) 10. Saturate 11. Out Of Control 12. The Golden Path – (Featuring The Flaming Lips) 13. Setting Sun – (Featuring Noel Gallagher) 14. Chemical Beats
I guess this is geared more towards the newer fans

Hmmmm. Saturate on CD1 ???? WTF?
It's better to put All Rights Reversed on CD1 and to release it as single. Best Chems track since Believe.

The last 5 years have been not so great for the Bros. Do they need the $$$ that bad?
Why not just release an album with fresh new tracks (including Midnight Madness and Keep My Composure) and add a bonus disc with all the electronic battle weapons?
There is no need to release an album with their old singles and with 3 or 4 songs from the last 5 years That's like Liam releasing another "Best of the Prodigy" after 2 more albums (that would like in 2015 or so )
What the Chems Bros need is a "Best of Mixes - Remixes" album. Now that is needed by now with so many good mixes since 1993.

I agree with some of what you are saying. But at least they are doing something to fill the gap between studio albums! I believe they'll have a new album ready by next year sometime!

Liam should learn about filling some gaps...
well I'm not sure there'll be a new Chem album next year... I first thought so, when I heard about EBW10 (and was getting excited), but then, "what the fuck, new best of???"
"Singles 05-??" would have been much better, I mean, I really don't give a fuck about this new tracklist, and for all the fans, who does?

I'm as big a Chems fan as anybody, but I think a second singles collection is really a sign of the end of times. The only reason they made EBW 10 was to have a 10th song for the EBW bonus disc...
The brothers are getting tired, although I still think they'll make one more album before calling it quits.
