Not a great shock tbh and another member of the 27 club
Quote: Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her home. The troubled singer had a long battle with drink and drugs which overshadowed her musical career in recent years. A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had died in Camden and that the cause of death was as yet unexplained. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14262237
RIP

Dunno whether to feel angry or sad about all this. Yeah she obviously had some demons but, even though nothings official yet, I'm guessing she took her own life.
Such a tragic waste of life, she was such a talented singer and had her whole life ahead of her. Would easily choose her over all the fake plastic Lady Gagas of today.
Such a weird weird year this is turning out to be, less than one month ago one of my best mates died the exact same way. See him one day n appeared to be fine n well, the next thing you hear is that they're dead.

I find it even more funny how all the news is about Amy now. As if Amy should be the main topic. We've seen her death a long time coming. Even sites on which you could guess a date and win a prize. A random guy kills a bunch of people, which is way more scary and intimidating... and people seem to care about Amy more. I wasn't actually making a real sophisticated joke or anything. It's just fucked up how people respond to these two news flashes. One day people go nuts about a shooting, day after nobody seems to care about anything except a dead drug addict.
(As I said on facebook; I find it even more funny how a shootout can still get more coverage on the news than say uncountable people are dying of something as simple as not being able to eat or drink. But oh well.)

She used to be one hell of a performer.
This woman will always be one of the best examples of public self-destruction.
And she didn't care.
When MJ died , I was in Afghanistan.
Several people were killed that day that didn't make the news.
My point is, it's just another day in the life.

Rest in peace, Amy.

I don't understand why is it so hard for someone to get that death of a celebrity you adored is of course different than death of some X person you don't even know their name or death of 92 people you also didn't know... I mean yeah people die around the world every day, but if you don't know them it is normal that it doesnt affect you. Not that anyone of us knew Amy personally, but we "kind of" knew her and admired her voice and her music and that's why we are sad Sad is also the fact she was so young and her life was so tragic...

I know what you mean, i'm still laughing my ass off, when i remember the tsunami disaster from 2004, where thousands of people have died, and nobody cares about it in polish media, till i read that Jet Li twisted his ankle when trying to save his daughter when water flooded his flat. Nobody gives a fuck about people suffering there, but c'mon, jet li twisted his ankle, this is disaster!!!!!:)
