I was at a Pendulum DJ-set (well, actually just 1 of the pack) yesterday in Haarlem (Not a great gig). I could not get a good hearing of the MC, but I think he said, the version of Voodoo People played there was a new remix of pendulum.
The version, well ehhmmm, sucked. Some annoying pauzes in the track and some playing with the melody (you all know you can't make the melody any better).
Well, i hope I misunderstood the MC, that it is a still develloping track, to become a other genius remix (lot of work needed). Or maybe i totally misunderstood the MC, and Pendulum was just fucking the old version up at the tables...We'll see...

I'm sure it was just the usual song. They might have been mixing it with something else or throwing in random breaks and shit. Have you been to a D&B show before? Are you used to the way they play songs?

O yeah mate, more than you can imagine! But i was triggered by the words of the MC, not by the music itself.

It was definitely a different remix. The intro and drop was same as the other one, except the breakdowns and some of the beats was different, sort of a VIP remix. The person responsible for booking Pendulum here in Trondheim also mentioned this 2nd remix of Voodoo.

yeah I've seen them last saturday in Utrecht...and that MC was annoying like hell! they had those very irritating pauses in the numbers they played ... so when you were just dancing and having fun, the music stops  and everybody stops around you and starts looking at eachother like.... wtf :S ... then after 5 seconds the music starts again... who the fuck invented this? I'm personally going to hatemail this guy! :P

but they played tarantula, girl in the fire and slam...and that new song that is on their myspace... probably a few more from "hold your colour" (but not hold you colour itself :()... they also played voodoopeople...but that f*cking MC couldn't keep his mouth shut so he had to let us hear how good he could sing the "tutududututu" part... allmost threw my beer at his head but that would be a waste of beer 8-)

SO! if your planning to go to pendulum...check first if you have the MC or the DJ....because in my opinion that MC sucked ...
(I really love pendulum btw but I mostly just can't stand mc's :))

A friend of my told me afterwards that the DJ had his hands not near his equipment when the pauzes got in.

At haarlem, the mc was not great either, but I have seen them as an live-act, there the MC'ing really added something.
