I believe these films were revolutionary back then due to novelties used in formation but nowerdays they just aren't interesting anymore because the technology has moved on and what remains is just the screenplay and if it's no good, the whole film no longer makes an impression. To each their own but man do I disagree. I think it's a brilliant movie and sure it might look dated but I think it's still relevant. I think it's hardly topical or just a Sci-Fi movie. One of my favorite movies of all time. I could go on but I think you're missing out on a great movie.

I just watched '10 Items or Less' and fuck I love Paz Vega. So beautiful and a pretty good actress. I liked everything I've seen her in.

Holy shit what a brilliant film. Michael Gambon, although in a minor role, kicks arse.

And I actually felt a lump in my throat at the end. You'll never see that twist coming.

One of my new favourite movies ever.
