David Fincher's way underrated Alien 3 from 1992. The Special Edition includes the superior Assembly Cut that's as close to the original never released Fincher cut as it's possible. Fincher's Alien 3 was raped by the Fox studios. Fincher disavowed Fox's "vision" of the film and left during the editing process. I've read that Fincher, who hates the theatrical release "Fox studios version", gave his blessing to the Assembly cut even though he wasn't directly involved with the remix.
