I would like to see more of Shaw's fight with the engineer (either in the director's cut or as an extra in the release) - I thought that went to quickly and should of been a little bit longer. Maybe also some more scenes with the xenomorph from the last scene.

Well, 20 minutes longer running time is quite a lot. It means that several scenes in the movie will be longer. I bet that most of the 20 minutes that will be added back will go to last half of the movie.

I don't think so. I think most of the deleted scenes will be from the first half od the movie. Probably longer opening scene, the older engineer with the young one before he drinks the goo. Some dialogue and character introductions. The scene in the hangar with Firfield, longercut, the longer Shaw engineer fight. And the last shot with the xeno it's pretty much done.

Most of the slightly too rushed cutting (due to the limited running time) happens in the last half of the movie (from the point that all hell starts to brake loose onwards) so most of that 20 minutes is bound to return there. And those fight scenes your mention are in that last half. The longer fight scene with Shaw and the Engineer goes to the deleted scenes and the not in the longer cut, like Scott said. I'm not saying that none of those 20 minutes won't go to first half cause obviously Ridley's gonna slightly extend scenes all over the place but from having seen the movie it's fairly obvious that most of the returned footage goes closer to the end than beginning. I bet the dark blue scene with David having a chat with Weyland who's in the sleep pod will most likely be extended where they'll show the actual conversation that happens in a dream state with Weyland looking his younger self (David tells Weyland that all the Engineers are dead, as he falsely believes at that point, and Weyland pushes him to "try harder").

More footage is good in any direction for me but...

I hope we don't get footage of how those two scientists got lost (geologist and biologist) - that was poorly written (the geologist had the "pups" that scanned the whole place).
No flute playing (I guess they thought that will be an original idea to start a ship - it looked pretty dumb for me though).
And the stupid biologist (again) who tries to pet the worm/snake creature - You would think he would know better (i know it was for the sake of plot moving forward).

I doubt Ridley's gonna take any scenes away. He's just putting back the stuff he was forced to take away to make it run just 2 hours for theatrical release. So basically it just gonna mean longer versions of scenes that are already there. More breathing space in between the more rushed bits, more time to absorb everything and more natural flow.

About the scene with a biologist. I doubt you nor anyone else here for that matter has ever actually seen an extraterrestrial being. How would one react to something like that? Most of us would probably be scared but surely not everyone. In some cases curiosity and wonderment would probably take over and any notion of possible danger would be forgotten. The guy in the movie is a biologist. I personally know one biologist and he's really fascinated by all things living, even the most mundane stuff imaginable. I bet that if he would be in the shoes of that biologist in Prometheus he'd be equally curious. He would be so damn excited about it all that I don't have any doubt he would get too close to it.

I wasn't thinking that he would actually cut scenes from what we already saw, just don't more of those scenes.

Regarding the biologist I have only one word and this concerns everyone from that team that went in there: quarantine. You really should think before taking your helmet off on an alien planet. The risk is too much even if you can decontaminate when you get back on the ship, you could still die fast after being exposed to a bacteria, virus, snake/worm etc.

Dude think of it like a 50/50 situation. There's ruffly the same amount of scenes cut both from the first and the second half.
And that dream scene with David and Weyland you speak of was in the script. David enters the dream, he is on a jetsky with a beautiful woman, going on a yacht where young Weyland is. They have a short discussion:
-Sir we found them but they are all dead
-Try harder
then David exits the sleep state and has his running with Vickers. Problem is they didn't film the scene, cause it was too expensive. It was the shoot from Spain with the massive water tank.
But like i said the opening could be longer, a extra scene with 2 engineers in the beginning not just one, more dialogue at the archeological dig like in the trailer, plus more time on the ship when they wake up and a more extensive introduction of the crew, more dialogue in some scenes. You could easily get 10 minutes of running time from this. And all of this i mentioned was filmed

Well, like I said that 20 minutes will be put back all over the place but judging from the pacing of the theatrical cut I do still believe that most of those minutes will go to the second half.

Personally, i didn't have a problem with the second half of the movie, minus the Shaw-engineer fight and cargobay fight. But the first half would sure need a lot more scenes.

I don't have a problem with it either but to me it's still quite obvious that the flow of the movie has been affected by the limited 2 hour running time. There's a slight lack of breathing space in between some of the scenes that to me signals that Ridley has had to cut corners here and there to make it all fit in the theatrical cut.

'Prometheus' Sequel Could Be Called 'Paradise', Says Ridley Scott
13 June 2012

Sir Ridley Scott has revealed details of a potential follow-up to Prometheus.

The Oscar-nominated director said that the sequel to the recent sci-fi could be called Paradise, which was Prometheus's original title.

"From the very beginning, I was working from a premise that lent itself to a sequel," Scott told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I really don't want to meet God in the first one. I want to leave it open to [Noomi Rapace's character Dr Elizabeth Shaw] saying, 'I don't want to go back to where I came from. I want to go where they came from'."

The director also teased that the paradise of the film's possible title would not be as heavenly as the name suggests.

"Because [the Engineers] are such aggressive fuckers, I always had it in there that the God-like creature that you will see actually is not so nice, and is certainly not God," Scott explained.

"I'd love to explore where [Dr Shaw] goes next and what does she do when she gets there, because if it is paradise, paradise cannot be what you think it is. Paradise has a connotation of being extremely sinister and ominous."

Damon Lindelof, who co-wrote the film, suggested that any follow-up would be less concerned with building up to Alien and would instead go in a different direction.

"[Prometheus] has two children - one of these children grows up to be Alien, but the other child is going to grow up, and God knows what happens to them," he said. "And that's what the sequel to Prometheus would be."

Rapace recently expressed her hope for a sequel to the film, which also starred Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba.

Yo yo, am back. Was avoiding this theme until i watched film!

Traveled 200km to watch it in IMAX with 3D, Jesus Christ what an experience.

The movie is so great, probably one of the best SF films ever. I see manny ppl don't like film because they don't understand it completely. But almost all questions are actually answered in the move so...

SPOILERS:

Only few things in film I actually don't like:

1: Meredith Vickers died. I am really pissed because of that. (But there is still small possibility that she make it, specially if she is android)

2: The idea that Space Jockeys are big humans and creator of human race. This is stupid for me, they were much more interesting when they were mysterious beings from god know where in space.

3: There is no reason for "creature" to be that big. What is it, some gigafacehuger, but why that big. It actually don't looking that big in concept arts, there is much better. (But i really like jockey-born chestburster, trying to imagine it as grown one xeno)

4: And the way relic ship flying, for me it goes backwards.

And I have only one question, is Vickers android or human? There are many clues in the film that she is android, and only one that she is human (rushing to get in the suit before escape, but she don't need it if she is android. Maybe she is one, but she don't know that, like Rechel from Blade Runner). Scott actually says in one inteview that "there is android on board, maybe two". It seams like he purposely left this question opened, just like with Deckard from Blade Runner.
