ok, i have 2 movies I saw recently and both ended with the sign of "?" for me.

1. The Departed: why "marky mark" killed "bourne" ? what for? who was matt damon at the end? and who was the other one?
2. There will be blood: daniel d lewis kill the priest and he say "I've finished" wha? what you finished?

so yeah, if anybody can give me an explanation about those 2 movie endings will be much appreciated thank you

at Departed, Mark Wahlberg was the only one alive who know that DiCaprio was a cop and he killed Matt Damon after he understand that he is the groundhog and to revenge the death of DiCaprio and their boss who was killed. Anyway the stupid thing in this movie was the way that DiCaprio die, just like that.

Why? Lots of probable reasons... the vibe i got was that after killing the priest maybe he's certain the LAW will come after him.. causing the destruction of the Oil empire he worked so hard to build the entire film... really fucked up ending Btw.

god i love the departed.nice twists and turns.i liked the ending very much cause i was wondering what happened with Mark Wahlberg,and then to see him taking revenge.just beautiful

I still prefer Infernal Affairs over The Departed...

Departed is for stupid americans, who else would like to watch a fuckin Plagiarism?? Americans have nothing interesting to show atm, thats why they are doing all these remakes.

I see no reason to do a remake if original one was created 4 years back like it was with Infernall Affars->Departed. Doing a remake is pointless, unless original movie is older than 20 years. Thats my opinion.

My point is Asians are doing great movies, and those stupid fuckers from USA doing the remakes and almost 90% of them are shit. As i said before Departed isnt a remake, its an plagiarism for me. Infernal affairs is a way better in everyway. Sorry for offtop guys.

speaking of Departed and Infernal Affairs. I've only seen Infernal Affairs (the first of the trilogy) once, also I've seen it after Departed, but I largely prefered Departed over IA. that's just perceptions/tastes

I felt like IA was too short, things happened too fast (while I felt 2½ hours for Departed was perfect), and also I found I couldn't connect too well to the characters' emotions, felt more of that with Departed again

last thing, I liked Departed's end, and it's the only one out of the 2 movies that got me this (positive) feel

While I do agree it does reek of plagiarism I still prefer the American version. This isn't my sole reason why, but here is 1 very beautiful reason ...

it's not plagiarism,you're acting like kids.you think they do these movies whenever they want?they buy the rights to do them and ussualy have even help from the guys behind the original movie to do theirs.
and it's a good thing they do them,cause the first movies were for a limited audience,not a lot of people into asian movies.it's a good thing they bring them in attention this way.it's the same as THE RING movies,90% of eople wouldn't even know about the japanese movie if they didn't do a american remake

Agree with u partly, "Ring" was created in time when every non-Asian people didnt know that Asian's does horror movies. It was like

-"Hey man, did you saw that new Asian horror movie??"

-"are you kidding me man?? they doing something else besides kung-fu stuff??"

So yeah, you're right, remakes sometimes brings attention for Asian movies, but how many people you know that are aware Departed is an remake of Asian movie?? I know almost 20 people from my street who thinks that Departed is original one.

Martin Scorsesse is a great director, he did a lot of great movies, and never won the oscar. Then he did american copy of Asian movie, scene by scene, and he won it for the first time. Man i dont know how about you, but i would be pissed off on his place.

It's like Liam did Firestarter, but he didnt get any award and attention for it, and now after few years The Zimmers have won the grammy award for their remake of song:). Almost same situation.


Say what you want but holywood havent got anything original and interesting to show. Dont get me wrong, I love their blockbusters, most of my favourite of all time, is american movies, but i hate when those fuckers doing so many, and so bad remakes. Holywood did an remake of spanish movie "rec" after 6 months of its world premiere, this should be banned.

I know about the movie rights and whatnot, sheesh. While it might have help in regards to The Departed, it sure hasn't for Asian horror movies like The Ring, The Grudge & The Eye. The American versions of those were beyond terrible. In my mind, the trend of remakes, unnece$$ary sequels, and unoriginality in the movies these days sucks and I'm sure thats why my mindset of 'plagiarism' is skewed on these kinda movies.
