I saw Transformers tonight, I liked it. It was a pure popcorn flick, but it was fun. I loved how they got the original actor Peter Cullen to do the voice of Optimus Prime. That made a big difference.
Also, did you guys see that crazy trailer for "Cloverfield" (fake title, it didn't actually say that was the name). It's where they have the hand-held home movie cameras and there's suddenly a big explosion and they go out into the streets of NY? That trailer was great. I haven't seen a good teaser like that in years. Reminds me of the hype Independence Day and Godzilla made with their great teaser trailers. The movie is top-secret and they're not leaking any info on it. But apparently it's gonna be all done with hand-held home video type cameras. If done correctly, it could be really good.
