Any hardcore Metal Gear fans out here too ?
I love those MGS conversations.

METAL GEAR SOLID 4 DETAILS AND STORY
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a story-driven adventure game, with seasoned hero Solid Snake drafted for one final mission. Set across stages including the Middle East and South America, the now aged Snake has been asked to assassinate his old adversary, Liquid Ocelot. To do this, however, he must make his way through a series of battlefields, using his legendary stealth abilities and all-new OctoCamo suit to avoid detection and to reach his target. With series favorites such as Meryl Silverburgh, Raiden, Hal 'Otacon' Emmerich, Eva and Roy Campbell returning, and with all new gameplay features including a remote-controlled Metal Gear Mk. II and enhanced CQC (Close Quarters Combat) system, Metal Gear Solid 4 rounds out the Metal Gear saga with a fittingly cinematic and gripping final outing.
The Limited Edition (available exclusively at certain retailers) comes packaged in a collectible metal case and includes a Blu-Ray video containing "making of" documentaries and an extensive interview with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. Also featured is the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Soundtrack CD.

You can see it as a spoiler...
But I truly believe... (For The Knowers)
That Big Boss will return in Metal Gear Solid 4.
There never was a real confirmation in-game that he's dead.
In Metal Gear Solid 1 Liquid Snake and the FOXHOUND team of that time demanded the restants of Big Boss, or else would launch a nuclear attack.
This means that there is a body of Big Boss.. somewhere out there.
I have researched for days and days about Big Boss,
played the games over and over and I'm now convinced,
and fucking hell I got my own theory !
I say it once, you gotta be a real Metal Gear nerd to understand all of what I'm saying, but I'm pointing to those persons who CAN understand it.
So here's my theory about Big Boss , still alive
Let's take a look at this description of Big Boss
He died in his 70's...
This text is taken from Wiki btw, it's correct what is stated (Except his Death of course).
Following Big Boss' death in Zanzibar Land, his body was recovered by the United States military and used for gene therapy experiments. Superior hereditary traits known as "soldier genes" were isolated from his cells and then transplanted into members of the Next Generation Special Forces. Those who underwent this experimentation became known as the Genome Soldiers, who serve as Snake's most common foe in Metal Gear Solid. The Genome Soldiers have augmented senses and reflexes, but are gradually dying due to genetic instabilities created by the gene therapy process (though what these genetic problems are is never made clear, perhaps a result of the atomic defects caused by Big Boss's exposure to radiation, or, as most commonly assumed, their body is unable to assimilate the gene therapy). In order to research a cure of the Genome Army's defects, Liquid demands Big Boss' remains as part of his ransom demands to the U.S. government. Liquid and the Genome Army take over the Shadow Moses island base, referring to themselves as the Sons of Big Boss.
I found a small interesting sketch in the metal gear solid artbook wich
for me stands as the image for the story above a little bit.
Now , he is being held in stasis by US Militairy,
but that of course is under control of The Patriots, I truly believe that.
The Patriots are what holds the world together , and in its current state in MGS4, it's a damn hard job.
Altough these are the bad guys, don't forget that.
They of course don't like Solid Snake, trying to destroy the world they had in eyes, a world full of war, to make money out of it.
So what will The Patriots eventually do to stop Solid Snake ?
I believe the ultimatum for them is sending the best Soldier ever.
An old 'friend' of Solid Snake.
Big Boss.
Remember the first image ever released of Metal Gear Solid 4 ? No ?
I'll make you remember
It was artwork. And look at the guy second from the right.
If that ain't Big Boss, you can kill me.
Also, with the confirmed return of EVA from Metal Gear Solid 3 I believe Big Boss will return.
The return of EVA ain't for nothing, it's gotte be really deep related to the story.
Big Boss will make an explosive , unforgettable, and creepy return.
This is my theory.

I guess this game will sell consoles but it is not my cup of tea.

ure right big boss has made a return, but knowing mgs stasz it could totally change.
the game is obviously set in the future this time, big boss was like in his 30's in 1950's
now to be honest, i don't think big boss is making a come back, but hear me out first stasz, this is what i kinda think at the moment.
big boss has clones, liquid and all that shit, u know what im talking about, now since there clones theres a chance that during that big boss scene, it could have been cloned aswell into liquid, say liquid could have big bosses memory's in his head since he's a clone therefore having a flash back of it is likley, or for all we know a new clone could be made from big boss striking a flash back thats more recent and not 1950s to 1970's.
chances are he could be like 130 years old and decided to use a little more crazyness to the game but realisticly it seems big boss is too old for this adventure, fuck knows i could be right and i could be wrong.
feel sorry for people who aint played previous mgs's, cuz this one will be a little akward for everyone, fighting as an old wrinkly man in a rubber suit doesn't sound to healthy for the game stores

It's the best thing since sliced bread.
I think it's cool for Kojima and his team to show that a 'video game hero' doesnt need to have a 'cool look'.
We got space marines and all that shit I've seen it all before...
I wanna play a emotional old character, with only six months to live ... who's hired to do some wet work
About what you said...
The game takes place in 2014.
So that wipes away some of your thoughts.
It's also hinted in some interviews there will be 'interactive flashbacks'
wich you play yourself as Snake (earlier missions, like Shadow Moses).
I'm sure these flashbacks will eventually bring up a huge plot twist throughout the game. Remember, we haven't 'heard' anything from Solid Snake himself from 2007 (MGS2) to 2014 (MGS4).
I'd love to see some flashbacks of Big Boss , like Snake's confrontations with him (Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 anyone ?)
I have also read that some playtesters, mainly programmers who worked on earlier games like Metal Gear Solid 1, cried during the playtest for 'bringing up old memories in the game'.
Also in the TGS 2007 trailer you see a Metal Gear battle between Solid and Liquid, the terrain used there is snowy... could be... Shadow Moses facility ?
I'm sure shit happened in the time between MGS2 and 4 tho.
I mean... how the fuck did the world economy change into getting money out of war and private militairy companies ?
So many questions, so many questions.
I'm sure I'll cry when I finish this game.
Because the best (Yes, the BEST) game-story ever will end... the 12th of June.
