What games do i need to get that are really good?

Bear in mind its my son's xmas pressie but daddy needs to play it too

I don't want anything too violent or weird

hmm i've got 3 i could recommend:

For Your Son:
Little Big Planet (its a fun game i think you'd enjoy it too it makes your brain work aswell)

For Both Of You:
Moterstorm Pacific Rift (racing game with all sorts of off road vehicles)

For You:
Metal Gear Solid 4 (this game is a bit vilolent but its so awesome you've bound to have heard about it hence this is a game for you)

these are the only games i have that i could recommend there all pretty damn good but it really depends on what your instrested in, browse the game sites and see what ones there are if none of these suit your tastes

These are just a handful of what I like/played and games I'v reviewed on the net, may or may not appeal to you but these are just suggestions.
I'd suggest you have a real good look about, heard there are loads of games coming out for the PS3 over the next few months Hope I'v helped!!!

I think Little Big Planet is the first game i'll get since its probably the most 'kid friendly'.
I think for myself i'll probably get MGS4 and Gran Turismo (when it eventually comes out), will probably get Modern Warfare 2 as well. I showed my son the game and he was literally salivating haha! He's already completed Call of Duty 3 for the Wii.

For games at least, unless you want the PS3 for the blu-ray then fair enough.

I did really think of getting the xbox but its gran turismo that has me sold. I might get myself an xbox in the new year though in the sales.

Plus my son has been going on about the ps3 for months, can't say no to him haha!

Fair play man you cant refuse the wee man! Gran turismo though? Forza is the better franchise in my opinion man! Cant beat upgrading cars to sillyness! A ferrari enzo with 950 bhp? You dont get that kind of fun in any other game!

You might as well buy both Uncharted games (1 + 2) and just play them yourself while your son is sitting next to you watching the thing and laughing his ass off because of the funny cut-scenes and stuff.

I have a similar experience with my little brother

I bought a PS3 But I only use it for blu-rays. I ended up giving my games away. I'm that nice a person haha. Just given my girlfriends dad Gran Turismo.

PS3 is a top notch system.
Sure you can play dozens of games for it on the 360 the only thing that differs between these two systems is blu-ray support and some game exclusives.

I also use it for streaming my music from my computer as my PS3 on my 5.1 HCS, but that's nothing special you can do that on 360 too.

Main reason for my PS3 is BluRay and streaming films and HD films from my PC
