Damn haters!

Some reviews here in Australia from newspapers, music reviewing sites etc claim The Prodigy had small crowds and looked old compared to Neil Young, ....they've also been saying they cant perform etc etc....wtf! (They are totally wrong btw there were about 25,000 ppl watching the prodigy in melbourne; by far the most of any act. and they fucking owned too.)

Why does the media feel the need to hate on them?
Been getting really random comments on reviews saying "who the fuck are the prodigy?," "they need musical training" etc....its really starting to piss me off. Had to vent my frustrations...grrrr...
i feel like graffiti-ing melbourne with ants and "invaders must die" tags.

man I feel your pain.. I kinda guess they are the underdogs when it comes to commercialized mother fuckers..

I was in a sanity music store just today... just was curious if they had a release date for IMD...

this is what I got "sorry.. whats it called again?"

me : "INVADERS MUST DIE"

"oh ok.. no its not in the computer.. it wont be in there until it comes out"

me : "OKAAAAAY"

Now I'm sure if Britney Spears or some other fuck had something new coming out within the next 6 months.. they would know about it.

I was just walking around thinking that nobody knows that this new album is coming out.. I was wishing I had a ton of posters or some shit. I'd plaster that shit all over the place. EVERYWHERE. I'm serious. It would be everywhere...

People here are out of touch. Can't imagine what it would be like for the U.S. after how shit AONO was promoted over there..

Why is it uncool to like The Prodigy? I would really like to know!

Everytime I tell people I love The Prodigy its always the same old shit response. But that's ok.. You go listen to ur fucking flavour of the month shit that some cunt at a radio station decided should be popular... People here are sheep.

i feel your pain guys , electro house is dominating australia and 95% of it is extremely boring shit , the reason so many dont know who the prodge are is because its really been almost 12yrs since they dominated the airwaves , some people were too young to notice them i guess and the others probably wont give dance music a chance coz there really is alot of bad dance music out there yet it seems to be the most popular WTF??

Yeah the 12 year thing is part of the problem with these people not knowing what they are talking bout.. these days people "know" everything.. just go on youtube and you can see people talking volumes about things they have know clue about..

I noticed in the other thread you was talking bout hopefully hearing "Thunder" in the clubs.. Yes that would be awesome..

But no doubt if it ever gets played (along with anything else from IMD minus Warrior's Dance) it will be some shit House remix of it to make it more dance friendly..

EDIT : Well maybe I'm getting carried away.. as from the snippet I think Thunder would go hard in a club.. but I can just imagine hearing something I know and then realising it is Thunder.... and then noticing... hmmm this is a remix... and that it is poo compared to the original.

just give it a while, we can all spread the word in our own little ways eh?

the problem is that the prodigy isnt very connected to the very mainstream of acts that attend festivals. when they papers etc send their people to review you always get a prodigy review from some lame indy-freak or whatever. I just stopped reading gig-reviews of the prodigy.

^^ Reviewers are shit cause they get paid to review the "trendy" music and give it a good review. anything else is kind of like "yeah, whatever"

pretty much. its difficult being an American and a huge Prodigy fan.

and if ppl are into them, its the same ol' "FOTL" responses.

people think Im insane for going to the World Music Conference, just because of the Prodigy, when there's 500 EDM DJ's all week. big deal, I don't have that much money! [just for the Prodge!]

I only play quality mixes of the Prodigy when DJing. and there's very few. From the snippet, Thunder is really hard. it doesn't sound like it has very much breakbeat in it which helps me want to play it. [Don't get me wrong I like BB, but not in my sets]

I dont really understand why dont you play the original one? Is it a rule that you must play a remix or WTF?

it's not entirely the media's fault.you can't just praise all the time and know everything about a band who released 2 albums in 12 years, and is always keeping secrets about it's work and stuff.for the media to promote them they need a ton of press releases from the label/band,tons of interviews, more videos.stuff like that

I'm not a hater, but this record is definitely worser than any other Prodigy record. I'm still shocked that they actually released it. It's sounds silly and immature  I think (don't kill me) that they ran out of ideas because this album is totally not original and it lacks the old energy. If I were one of those crappy journalists I would kill the album because I'm a pessimistic person. But don't get me wrong, I still love them, it's just that they ran out of ideas.
BTW If it makes you happy in LT people are totally in love with IMD. The video get's played ten times a day on the teli. So different country, different opinions. Don't be angry about that.
