Ya he was a fucktard, and he was responsible for the deaths of many, but it sounds like Iraq was doing alot better under his dictatorship then it is doing right now. I'm sure if you were to ask most of the Iraqi's if they would prefer having Sadam's regime ruling Iraq, or the current american occupation, I have a feeling most liked it more when Sadam was in power.

I have an arab friend, whose opinion is that because there are so many factions, and different political groups, that that hostile area needed a harsh dictater to stop them from having a civil war. Which is what is happening now.
