he copied that trademark "hadouken" lead synth sound aswell on colours and world's on fire. I know they make it with a roland sh-201

I'm pretty sure his virus polar TI is quite alot used on this album.

it's just 2 square waves, one slightly detuned. nothing complicated.

btw: i think it's the voyager on imd, omen, colours, etc.. sounds much fatter.

I really fell in love with that sound, making a track with it (quite IMD inspired), mine's from a korg emx tho.

I wonder from which synth that lead sound from take me to the hospital is.

if you mean the portamento-lead in the last part, I think it comes from the Roland sh-101

I dont think Liam used Reason on this album. Maybe just as a way to get down some ideas. Black Smoke does have some Reason-feel to it. Sound like Liam playing with dr-rex.

Yeah, on black smoke + Wild West you can hear the scream 4 from reason.

I think the early versions of Invaders Must Die was made on Reason. Liam said that he made the main riff on his lap top on a air plane (or something like that)

I don't know how he uses the TI polar...
I think the bass line on warrior's dance is from the voyager. When it goes solo in the middle, you can hear the typical analog fat sound.

He used to love the micrkorg (in old itw), and he probably used the MS200 (same sounds) for the album, even if he doesn't use them anymore on stage (just sh101, Ti polar, and moog voyager).

Hey dudes, we've got a minimoog voyager electric blue at work. It's fully midi implemented so can be triggered by sequencing software just fine, and the bass sounds that can be heard on a number of tracks can be really easily made on it. It's got this dual LPF or HPF system which, although it's a monophonic synth, is able to split the signal at output producing a stereo waveform. Also, it's got three oscillators, but the third can also be used as another LFO to modulate various parameters of the other two OSC, such as variable pulse width, etc. Both these things are where the hugely phat bass sounds come from! We also use Logic Pro Studio 8 too, and it is packed to the hilt with hundreds of sound patches and audio files of all manner of instruments. Used with a decent audio interface, MOTU or something similar, and pop all individual channels through a decent analogue valve mixing console like a TLAudio, use some decent outboard compressors and effects units and hey presto, a Prodigy track is born!

Liam also seems to utilise a lot of re-sampling. He makes/produces sounds, putting them through effects units like chorus to widen the stereo field, then re-samples them and keymaps them to certain keys that can easily be triggered rapidly through MIDI by a sequencer. Listen carefully to the various 1/2 bar and 1 bar breaks in Omen through some stereo speakers to hear that all the little snippets of lead and bass sounds occupy different places in the stereo field, such as at 0.17secs in the radio edit. Ok, now I'm in the mood I might play with the Moog tomorrow! See ya!!!
