1. clint mansell only worked on the version you can hear in the movie
2. the track sounds a bit "polished", or more correctly, weak in the high end. But that's probably because the clip on myspace is in 96kbps 22khz. I wouldn't expect the cd version to have more bass, but the high end will def be better.
3. I'm not sure i like the new trend where Liam's tracks sounds like they don't have as much punch like they did before. I think it's a combination of less bass, and less/different use of compression and dynamics techniques that give the impression of phatness. He should definitly compare some of his recent tunes to TFOTL tunes when doing mixdown and mastering. "Liam the perfectionist" seems to be gone.
4. All in all an ok tune, but it would have been excellent if the phatness we know from TFOTL era was there.

And by the way: it sounds like he's using a 909 kickdrum, only highly compressed.

The compression on the myspace site makes it sound a bit flat I think, wait for a proper mp3. I really like it though, good for a soundtrack release, very similar to one of the warnings we've heard live, just needs vocals! :oldevil:

It basically is the warning from pukkelpop 05, just extend, cleaned up a bit and a few new elements.

yeah perhaps the compression is a bit shit, but too many people just suck the ass outta liam no matter what he releases. this doesent sound like a prodigy record to me, and i think thats because of the gear hes using, or the lack of infact. and a proper mp3 or whatever aint gunna make a difference to my opinion on the choon because of a little bit more bass or whatever, people will moan at me for saying this, but i dont give a shit, im being honest, just coz its a prodigy choon it doesent mean its amazing, its far from, liams past his best now. the ideas are there, but it isnt done in the right way i dont feel. this sounds too clean, and that i dont feel has anything to do with myspace, or whatever.

Well that's your opinion, but dont forget liam was probably never gonna release this track anyway so be fuckin greatful. He has his reason's for holding back certain live tracks... clearly now you can understand why...

tbh, nothin you say is gonna make a blind bit of difference to the way liam goes about writting his tracks.

Anyway, I think everyone is forgetting this isnt album quality work, its just like:

"oh yeah i got a track you can have for your movie" *mixes up warning abit sends it off*... *now back to the album*

mate, the difference between me and probably all the fans on here etc... is the fact that i dont suck liams ass just coz hes released a track or whatever. i couldnt give a shit whether or not this was released, so no i shouldnt be grateful because did i ever ask for it? no. fair enuf, if someone was beggin for it, then slated it, you could say that, but not to someone whos not actually expressed any real interest in liams new material other than my opinions on the simple lack of prodigy esq sounds and shit. to be honest mate, my belief in liam went out the window when i got to about track 8 on AONO. hes spent too much time away from the buisness and not kept his ear to the ground. liam needs to get off what hes on and sort it out. u dont loose the talent like hes got overnight, actually, u never loose it, its always going to be there, but hes spending too much time in other places doin other shit, rather that listenin 2 whats goin on music wise these days. to me this doesent sound a whole lot different to what i heard on back to mine. he doesent seem to have any direction or anything.

when i heard girls for the first time i realised he still had it, unfortunatley i think thats the last time ive thought that ever since. prodigy fans dont like the way i express my opinions coz i dont hold back on what i feel, i remember when that ping pong bitches track surfaced a few week ago, everyone was goin nuts coz they thought it was liam, how strange was it that once it was revealed liam had nothing to do with it, loads of people on here and other places dropped it like a hot brick. people just think "fuckin amazing choon, best thing ive ever heard! " etc.... just coz liams produced it. bollocks to that, if it sounds shit it sounds shit, no matter who fuckin produced it. and at the end of the day. this choon sounds shit, its an improvement over wake the fuck up, but bloody hell. that isnt saying a whole lot now is it.

liam COULD still make the choons, but at the moment, he really really isnt going full throttle and it sounds like (as someone has pointed out in another post) that hes become lazy and perfectionist liam went out the window the day he started wearin makeup. lol

Man, with a bit of more melody/variation this could be classic material. The energy is definitely there. It's so damn tasty.

But without vocals/more melodious otherparts it's kind of more b-side sounding.

Are any of the other tracks any good?

The other ones on myspace aren't very good tbh.

TomLad has some good pionts, I see what you mean man.. But whatever we say liams not gonna listen to that. We'd wish he did.. that way we could've has tons of tracks we do not have (that sucks btw)... Enjoy the stuf we DO get, even though we don't get the quality we were used to. And we do not know what will happen with the next album. If it's different (better) than the stuff from 2004 to 2007, I'm happy. It's an album. different from the Bsides etc... Fingers crossed don't lose your hope now.. even though the tracks dont piont in the direction you would want his music to be it. It's still Prodigy, it's not what you expect, it's... ah well, drank too much.. I hope you get the idea.. what I'm saying hahaha

Yeah thats right.Maybe this track is not sooo good. But Liam knows what he is doing. It is not Liams real Warning. It is just the FIRST warning. The thing is that the song have to harmonize with the movie/scene, and maybe thatswhy he mixed the warning track in order to harmonize it with the movie.Probably the real Warning is more powerfull with other soundelements what couldn't harmonize with this movie.i am working as cutter for after effects. And i know that many artists want to write their own style of music for the movie, but the most of the producer and director tell them that they HAVE TO write only music which can harmonize with the moviescene.Thatswhy I think thats not the real warning. Its just the FIRST warning. The Real warning will be definetely amazing with vocals and other soundelements.Dont worry.........be happy

Like I said this was just released for a movie, he probably wasnt going to release it... get what im saying yet?

Yeah thats your opinion, your allowed to have that :P but nothing you say is ever gonna change the way liam does  I'm guessing you dont like Phoenix on AONO... you probably hate it, along with Shoot Down... well what sorta music you listen to apart from Prodigy? (im guessing only, DnB, bigbeat, techno etc.)

PS - I said all along Liam had nothing to do with chains...

well im pure old skool mate, aint into dnb much, nor big beat, but breaks and shit, cant get enuf, so if i hear a choon thats got a phat break im all for it. fair enuf this is b side material yeah, but liams bsides are traditionally as good, or better than the a side! lol (rhythm of life, jericho mixes, fire mixes, we are the ruffest etc..) but since who u foolin came out (lol) things just aint been the same b side wise. fairplay liams put out a new choon on a new film, thats good of him 2 do. but i expected this choon to be pretty decent considerin what i heard on the live versions was a bit of orite. like i said liams still very much got it, but he needs 2 get it before he can use it again.

on a side note, who thinks they need 2 change their image? lol
