Someone on a french gear forum think it's a kind of... old school video game (arcade) use now as a midi control...
or Maybe it's responsible for the cheap sound that makes main riff in colors and worlds on fire.

its kinda hard to pin point what it does exatcly, i doubt it makes its own sound if its from arcade, it looks like an arcade controller that works with midi, there were alot of video games from those times that were midi, it might just be controlling certain sounds

That is most definitely a controller from an old arcade machine...I'm sure I've seen that design before but I can't remember which machine had it.
Personally I don't think it's anything special, and if anything the jack plug sticking out of it suggests it's maybe a custom fx machine.
