Some of you are looking at this all of a sudden "revelation" that Liam samples or gets ideas from other tracks like its a bad thing. He wouldn't be embarrassed by it, so why should you? I think sometimes he gets a vibe off of something.. starts off imitating that vibe and then it evolves into something new.
It's the way he finds bits and pieces from all kinds of music, the kinds of music that most people wouldn't bother listening to and turns little sections which sound like nothing... into something. This is where his true talent lies. Thats not to say he isn't good at programming beats or anything else. We all know he does that well too!
He's always said the sampler was his real instrument, and its obvious when you hear how he treats samples and sound.. etc.
blah blah fuckity blah!
100% agree. it doesn't bother me at all. all what mathers is the final product and what you get out of it for yourself. taking sample from unknown artist and making it to be in part of something special. it is something between bloody pirate and noble Robin Hood.

Ι don't think there is anything wrong about Liam using samples. He is a great DJ and using samples is one of the things DJs like to do. It has nothing to do with stealing or copying other songs.
I mean, all these melodies, these breakbeats that made his songs what they are, were inspired by him. For example in Voodoo people vocals are samples but the great electro melody is all Liam. In No good same thing. In wariors dance he sampled the womans vocals but thats it. The song is pure Liam's inspiration.
Man! this video is brilliant.
Not too sure about two of the sample though...the Spectrum Brazil sample, and the other high pitched synth sample in OOS (forget the sample example)...couldn't these two just be the fact that Liam used the same preset synth sound as those other artists?

Why is this a shock? I mean, this is seriously the style of music he comes from and makes... it uses samples. No big deal.
Forgot when and where he said it, but... "The sampler is my instrument" - LH
Edit: Awesome video btw! And that was just mostly the vocal samples. It'd be another 10 minutes for all the other stuff. I love how he's still sampling that Hustlers Convention vinyl after all these years.

I think it has a sample. The main rhythm is a sample I think I've heard it somewhere, but dont remember where.

i actually wouldnt know what is more brilliant: doing it all from the head or mashing up so many different samples and making a unique track that could only be liam's work.

thats his thing, it made him who he is today. cant imagine him creating an album without samples. one thing though, the powerchord/crash sample from RWTW sounds like it came directly from a low quality youtube video, i think it might have been in fact. using lazyness as a way of expressing yourself i have a slight issue with, would have taken 10 minutes to source the original file and get a better quality sample.

*cough cough * - maybe my opinion, but I think this one is also a great track with a beat also used in "poison"
