I don't quite understand why the live performances of Thunder cut out the best bit in the middle.
The entire song is astonishingly good (quite possibly my favourite tune ever) but that bit is the peak.
I mean of course from 1.54 onwards. That entire section is removed from the live gigs.
Maybe I've missed the reason, but why is this?

Liam has never played all the tunes live as they were on the albums. he always makes different live versions of some of the tracks and as for Thunder... the album version is the best thing he's made in this decade and the live version is just MAD! i hope they'll drop it back to the set

to be fair i think he has only dropped thunder once live in america or canada i think, the current setlist is so tight that i dont think we will see it this summer in the set, it does need changing for the live set though as its not a hugely fast track, more dark and brooding, still would work live though, i want colours live too

They should get rid of Their Law and Poison from the set and throw in Piranha and Thunder.

+1 to that shit
Thunder was rocking live at NYC
and i'm dying to hear Maxim rip it on Piranha too.
the only track not to get played off the album pretty much.
Colours only got one play, but i can see how that's not a really dancey song.
i think Thunder should be the new opener, totally describes Prodigy bass destroying live shows.
keep World's On Fire, but i think it should be later in the set.
"i hear thunder but there's no rain!"

I don't see that happening this century. They hate it. At least Liam does.

Actually I would like BGAT live too. I really don't care what the band says, and anyone for that matter, I like that track. A live version would blow my mind...

i love BGAT.
sonically, one of Liam's most experimental and craziest, and the sounds flow into each other like liquid.

i was just kidding. liam can force out some cool stuff out of rubbish if he tries hard enough. the idea behind the track is shit though, keith got a little too much creative control. lets leave it alone, RIP BGAT aka BEE-GAT

I see "Thunder Beats" in a setlist as a 2min bomb with the sample "i hear thunder but there's no rain" sounding like "Hospital" voice in TMTTH

Thunder works really well live. I think the problem is, as with a lot of other tracks that don't get played it has a really distingtive sampled vocal in it, this means Keith and Maxim can't have the same impact as they do on other tunes. I think that's one of the main reasons they don't play it, maybe they rehearsed a live version without the sampled vocals and it ddn't work or some shit.
I just don't think Keith and Maxim like being overshadowed by sampled vocals. It's part of why No good has never really worked that well live.

Liam Howlett doesn't agree. He said it needs to be reworked before it returns to the live set.
I agree with Liam. 'Thunder' was played in Newcastle. The track worked until the beats and bass kicked in and then it didn't work. Change the beats and it will work.
