All equally had something important to say and represented a genre or music and fans to the full, exactly like the Prodigy and you can see Liams influence from all 3.
+1 ! I would also add the early UK rave and acid house scene + old school hip-hop, funk and the 70s 80s punk/ska bands. From the mid 90s they've been influenced by the alternative rock and recently the new electro, dubstep, dnb and modern punkrock bands

I don´t believe they have origins in Rock Music Bands like Rage Against The Machine or Nirvana. Maxim said in an interview during their first gigs on rockfestivals (in ´92 / ´93 I guess) they remarked a new spirit, a new kind of energy - the element of rock - that´s also a reason why you have guitars used on Music For The Jilted Generation.
So I guess they´re more into electronic dance music and hip-hop roots.

No-one have mentioned Bomb The Bass yet!!! They've certainly paved the way and influenced Liam and there's no denying that! Check out the 'Into The Dragon' album from 1988. It's littered with samples that Liam re-used in Experience. It's an education in early sampling methods!!!

I say Beastie Boys because they started real young...they originated from the original hip-hop scene, similar how Prodigy emerged from the original rave scene......They pushed boundaries and had that badass image....cross-pollinated with other genres where is youre source for the emerging from the original hip hop scene they were a punk band to start off with have a read man - Quote: Beastie Boys came together in 1979 as a punk band called The Young Aborigines.[4] In 1981 Adam Yauch (MCA) joined the group, and from the suggestion of their guitarist John Berry, they changed the band's name to Beastie Boys. The name "Beastie" is sometimes thought originally to have stood for "Boys Entering Anarchistic States Towards Internal Excellence," and that the initials B.B. intended to mimic Washington DC hardcore punk band Bad Brains.
Licensed to Ill: 1984–1987 It was during this period that Def Jam record producer Rick Rubin signed on and the Beastie Boys changed from a punk rock outfit to a three-man rap crew. The band released the 12" EP, Rock Hard, in 1984—the second record released by Def Jam that credited Rubin as producer. Soon after Rubin's arrival, Schellenbach developed creative differences with the band, citing her friction with Rubin. It was believed that Rubin objected to Schellenbach's place in the band as she did not fit the hip hop image to which the band aspired. Schellenbach went on to join Luscious Jackson in 1991.

I know they were a punk band before hip hop, but they were one of the few artists who shaped early hip-hop....they blended it with rock and are still riding that initial wave they help create.
They didn't do that for punk music

Madness.
Not music-wise ... it's just that they sounded nothing like anything that was produced back then, fresh.
Just like The Prodigy.
Madness must have influenced them anyway , they covered Nightboat to Caïro ... and Maxim mentioned 'This one goes out to Madness' during several gigs, don't know with wich particular song tho'.

Ha! They wish.
As i said before no one should be the 'new Prodigy'
Hadouken sound Prodigy-lite. They lack balls.
Of course bands can be and should be influenced by Prodigy but in no way should they copy them. As Pendulum found out to their detriment.
