What's everyone buying this year?

The last two years PES has been very poor in comparison to the improvements Fifa are making. I've been a PES die hard for around ten years but last year I almost baught Fifa 09, the gameplay still put me off slightly as it still had that running in mud feeling!

But this year? I've been playing both the demos this week and I've got to say Fifa has came on leaps and bounds, it plays fantastically. One of the main gripes I had with fifa is that it just doesn't feel satisfying to score, a lot of shots just look the same. It's evolved in 10, it feels almost as satisfying as PES now. The added bonuses of fantastic animations and all their licenses and I'm really thinking about buying Fifa this year over PES. The only thing that's putting me off is the fact that PES has improved this year also, not as much as Fifa mind you. But they've revamped the master league also, which is where I spend the majority of my time. I'm not sure how good the manager mode is in Fifa? In a bit of a quandry at the moment!

I would go for PES any day.
FIFA might have improved a lot, but that doesn't mean that it has become better than PES. It has simply reduced the gap which was really huge a few years ago.

naa man play both of the demos.

Fifa has come a long way since the mud of 07.

I've heard that the PES demo is very poor in comparrison to the final build of the game, so that makes everything even more confusing.

Think I might just buy Fifa tomorrow then trade it in when PES comes out.

I'll be getting a PS3 for my son this xmas (well its really for me as well :P ) But first on the list of games i want is defo PES. I love the game, even back in the days of ISS for the SNES. The gameplay of it has never been matched by FIFA in any of the years i've played both games. To me FIFA always seemed like the kids version of PES.

I will admit i have not seen much of the new versions of either but from a quality standpoint, PES shouldn't lose what reputation it has built up over the last 13-14 years.

yea man that's a fair point!

Like I said before I love PES, but the last two years they have made no forward ground at all with their games while Fifa makes all the headway. Last year I really fell out with PES 2009, so much so I play PES 6 at the moment, I can't stend 09 or 08. But it was never enough to make me buy Fifa. I almost baught Fifa 09 last year but still fealt it didn't quite cut the mustard.

This year though I really don't know. The Fifa 10 demo is really something special, it just feels as close to real football as a game has ever done. The only thing that puts me off is no master league. The master league is my ultimate obsession!

I'm still living in the dark ages in terms of consoles as i still love my PS2 and cant justify buying a PS3 at the mo, (mind u the missus wants a Wii) .
I had all the early PES' and only went over to FIFA when the 08' version was released, that was ok and i was pleased with 09' but i found in manager mode once a game had finished i repeatedly got screen freeze and had to reload which fucked me off no end!!!!
I would still stick with FIFA due to the license restrictions PES has but tbh i think buying either on a PS2 would be pointless as sadly i dont think the consoles can cope and show off the best of the games as sad as it is :(

baught Fifa 2010 on Friday.

Find I'm getting bored of it already. All the teams and players just feel too similar! Also I find it impossible to run past players, don't get me wrong I hate people who just pile up and down the pitch. I love playing the passing game but now and again you have to try that bit of magic.

Because the tackle button is so godamn sticky on this game it's impossible to get past someone, oh and son't get me started on the justle for the ball thing. It's really smart in some cases but 80% of the time it just pisses me right off. I'll keep playing it until PES comes out, which was my origional plan anyway. Then perhaps I'll trade it in unless my opinion changes.
