Okay but War of the Worlds did something weird too.

For like instance the part where Tom is running through the streets...
when i saw that the first time it made me feel REALLY uncomfortable.

hmm, scariest movie...
it is hard to say, because i remember when i was young that movies were a lot more scary then when i watch one now
but i think i go for Stephen King's It aswell.
that clown freaked me out :D, i think some ppl still get scared from clowns if they saw that movie when they were young (though i dont see why, how can a clown be scary, they are here to entertain ppl, not trying to scare them)

i never really had a movie that scared the crap out of me, but i got some creepy ones that got to me a bit. fuck those horror movies where the only way they can make you jump is with a loud bang or musical score hit. these movies have generally creepy atmospheres.

-Silent Hill

-The Shining

-Jacob's Ladder

-Session 9

I'll agree with Session 9 and the Shining, those had some eerie atmospheres.

movies with eerie atmospheres...lets see

The Grudge (just all around eerie)
Blair Witch Project
Any of the Exorcist movies

bah I cant think of any more...they're all at the top of my head, and I know that as soon as I make this post, i'll remember them.
