The valley is the most hdr of all of them, but it's not done by autobracketing. Generally all I do is cut the sky out in a new layer so I can adjust levels independently (the mountainside by the beach is a big giveaway because of the fringing on the skyline where I didn't cut it out properly.)

Everything else is just curve adjustments and a burnt vignette for effect. The purple colour in some of the photos is from long (15-30seconds ) early morning exposures with only a hint of light in the sky. At those times the camera picks up incredible colours which are invisible to the naked eye.

great snaps man!

This thread is dead these days, quite sad really!

I think everyone gave up after gee was just spamming modeling pics every day. I'll try upload some later from my trip to India!

Aquila don't think I'm knocking HDR, I'm a fan. Trying to experiment myself, your pics are great. Any stitching? Or do you have wide angle lenses?

Only one that was stitched was the valley. Generally I use my 17-85mm USM lens for everything else. I'm saving up for a ridiculously wide angle 11mm lens though ;)

Gee's photos were excellent though. Maybe a tad excessive in the post count but I couldn't fault the artistic quality in his photos.

Up at 3:30am this morning...at it again ;)

Image

Taken 4:35am, almost totally dark. The trees are illuminated by a streetlight about half a mile away. 30 second exposure @ f4.5. Extreme levels adjustment and noise reduction in photoshop.

I love how the moon lines up perfectly with this boat on the horizon. 4:36am, 15sec exposure @ f/4.5. I chose to exaggerate the size of the moon.

This is the last good image from a 2 hour morning shoot. I think I need to scout for some more locations. 15sec @ f/4.5 again, 4:45am.
