Anyone else has it?

Ive had it since i was a kid but never really done anything about it, till last week where i went to see a specialist and im getting treated with medicines and its doing a good job so far and im so fucking happy about it.

It just bothers me that its taken me 23 years to fix this shit and i can finally concentrate and and my brain doesnt feel like a fucking tv with a 100 channels on at the same time if you know what i mean...i could go on and on as my case was severe but i just wanna say that im happy .

I'm interested in hearing some stories, im sure theres alot of BKer's with ADHD

My dr diagnosed me with good old plain ADD when I was a teenager. Definitely no hyperactivity here. I just have a very short attention span when I'm supposed to be lear...oooh shiny!

i do have that attention problem, taking pills, but it doesnt help much, but im not hyper, im very slow motion

thats right my dear EP, my grades was awful i hardly finished high school

i always wondered if i had it or not. i have a high IQ but my grades were shit. i was getting sent out all the time for distracting others, i would rather make people laugh than pass my exams. im not sure, no one ever pointed it out to me

my first love was the guy in the class who was distracting others all the time, and he always tried to make me laugh

i think people often confuse the symptoms of ADHD and bipolar disorder. i know for me i have mood swings, but they arent severe enough for me to worry about, but i try to steer clear of alcohol when i feel like shit

same here ive been having make up exams every year from 4th till 12th grade! but i noticed its a bit easier to control when ur older like im about to graduate from university after 5 years

btw ET, smoking weed makes it worse much worse it makes my attention 0 % as im always being lost with my imagination and day dreamining and imagining stuff and laughing at them when everyone asks me why the hell im laughing i always tell them ''i just remembered something, or i imagined something funny'' lol

My mum has Bipolar and at the moment she's on a complete high, totally lost it and is thankfully back in the mental hospital. The last few weeks have been torrid for me, mental illness is simply the single worst illness anyone can get.

It's such a fucked up thing, since for so many people it's extremley difficult to diagnose them properly. A lot of the time the drugs do a lot more harm than they do good.

The only advice I'd give to you EP is don't stop/start these drugs man, it will fuck your head up. My mum made that mistake recently by stopping them altogether, now no one knows if she'll ever recover. Who knows though, the human mind is such a complicated thing. Just be careful what you do mate and follow the doctors advice at all times!
