Ok now help me with something pls:
I'm studying visual arts now at Design college and it makes me wanna vomit. Contemporary art linked with advertising is completely surfeited and you can only get noticed if you know how to promote & defend yourself, even if your work is complete shit. I see no future in this and I don't wanna do it anymore, so I'm desparate to find smth else as soon as possible so I can continue studying this year hopefully not having to wait til next October.
What do u guyz think about these collages: Social work, Musicology, Etnology & antropology, Art history, Czeh/Slovak language, Teology?
I know this question is completely irrelevant and it's my interest that matters, but I'm so fuckin confused. I always thought visual arts is perfect for me but now I found I couldn't be more wrong.
Gosh why couldn't I be just like Keith & Maxim, jumping on the stage, shouting whatever comes to my mind and dance all life to the best music in the world? + Travel the globe + have fun + make cash money + fuck all the young girls along the way... I envy them so much.
Maybe I should sell my things and go to the Near East for 8 months like Keith did, and when I come back ....... my father kills me lol

Many of those things are also kinda fluffy and also have a limited number of available jobs. You can do those things as a science (like as a researcher at a university), or in the industry by for example adding some extra value, or by perfecting a product, through the type of knowledge you will gain. The first option doesnt pay unless you do get a Ph.D (roughly speaking) and the second option can be risky as its a type of job that is expendable for many companies, especially during a crisis, as it does not directly contribute to the production. Except if you study theology and become a priest.
Its a trade-off for you I think. Good chance of getting a job vs. doing precisely what you want and then becoming insanely good at it. Or a compromise between those.

Quote: theology you can learn just how much you despise religion. I only despise christianity. Quote: out of all, musicology or anthropology, both interesting, leaning more towards anthropology i think My friends just told me that musicology is so classic-oriented and when you study anthropology u can't find a job anywhere Quote: Study what you love and hope you don't start to hate it. You can never count on a good chance to get a job, you can also have a doctorate and be without a job for almost a year (some relative's case hmm). So I'm just thinking what's the most interesting/the easiest thing to study... Oh and I wanna travel lol.
Ye sure priest is the only thing u can be if u study theology
What do you guys study or do for living?

Fun and easy jobs arent widely available though Everyone wants such job. Its true there is no job guarantee for any education, but some surely have better possibilities than others. My point was that with the above it imo wont necessarily be any easier to make a career than with what you do now. If you want to do those things for a living I think you have to work hard and stubbornly, and that kind of kills your "easy to study" argument.
I study software construction with specialization in HCI (human-computer interaction). Its programming and system development of application intended for human use (ie not some driver for a graphics card or a dvd player), so its very technical things mixed with inter-personal communication and user co-operation.

Chavah, write a letter to the Prodigy saying that you want to join them as a dancer. Sharkey MKII. Afterall, that's how Keith started.. he just got on stage and never got chucked off
Seriously though, i'm not the right person to give advice as i'm stuck in a dead end job that I hate. I wanted to be either: a car designer (I am real good at drawing and rendering cars), a journalist, a pro DJ or race driver. I went to college to do motor vehicle engineering which was going to help me with car design. Trouble was, at college there were hot girls and dope... I hadn't dabbled with drugs and hoes at school so college was a great experience, only I didn't get much learning done and as soon as I finished I got any old full time job to fund my new party lifestyle. 10 years on, I regret not going to Uni and getting a car design degree. It's too late for me now.. I have a quite well paid job and a huge mortgage on a house. So I can't leave otherwise i'll be crashing on mates sofas as i'd have to sell the house. I'd also have to sell my beloved cars lol.
So my advice then, if you start on a path make sure you complete it. And if you are passionate about a certain subject or career path then follow it and keep trying till you get there. Otherwise you'll end up like me.. a 28 yr old waster lol.

Hmmm interesting Randy well there's at least 1 thing I'm not scared of... I've done quite a nice amount of drugs and shagging around since I was 14, now I'm 19 and i've had enough of it.
Yea journalism interests me too, and how exactly do you become a pro DJ?
Cuz I mean ... Anybody whith 5 minutes of time can call himself a DJ nowerdays ... but how do u start for real?

I've done my fair shair of shagging around and drugs now so if I was to sell the house and sleep on mates sofas I'd probably do well at Uni lol.
To be a pro DJ.. fuck knows. I guess it involves ass licking, giving demo CDRs to all the good clubs in London or Birmingham, and I guess just being really good at what you do. Without sounding like a big-head I am fucking good at mixing. Can't beat juggle yet (Have you seen beat juggling on youtube?) but i'm good at making bootleg mash ups (beat from one record and melody from the other). But yeah I think out of all of my dream jobs, this would be the hardest to get into as every guy or girl who likes their dance music and owns some turntables would like to do this for a living.
I guess journalism would be good, but again it involves studying hard at Uni which I don't think I could do. It also would require me being able to use punctuation well and spell correctly, which anyone who's reading this will see that these things elude me!
You seem very smart Chavah and i'm sure whatever you do you will triumph
