With the book, we can see what was the studio for IMD.
It seems that it was heavily based on Virus TI, Oberheim 2 voices, Mac (!) and his distortion rack Thermionic Culture.

So, no moog (maybe) for the warior's bass line but Oberheim.

I'm definitely not an expert of synths or anything but just would like to mention about a little strange mastering on IMD album. It sounds somehow very hard if you listen after that to some other electronic album for example Fat of the Land where the sounds are hard-hitting but the feel is softer, you know? Hard to explain, the beats of IMD are like...dirty if you could say so. Warriors Dances beginning sounds sometimes a bit awful and silent and when the beat comes in its louder and better quality (?). Dunno about it, just the way I feel it. Any thoughts?

you probably mean the lesser reverb/echo that makes you think it "hits" harder, and maybe the "dirty" beats imd has with the help of a little distortion. And the differences in sound leveling could b due to the different compression patterns applied. Some answers to the problem, doesnt mean they are true-

Couldn't possibly be the 12 year improvement and evolution of recording gear since FOTL, yeah?

Any chance of a re-up on the higher resolution pics from above?
