this situation is ridiculous, its obvious the bidder who asked for the exclusive is among us.

Next time, rip>sell>leak mp3s two months after (without saying you would to this prior to the sell).

watch for crocks, they might steal your laptop, where you store that only rip of the tape you done. but oi, its only a leeroy tape, it doesnt got quality anyway, i really dont bother to get it or not, probably will be a waste of bandwidth to be honest. the only value of the tape its the rare status. same with the minefields tape, who cares to hear a song (you already heard loads of times), but with a longer bridge or so? its like going to a prodigy show in 2009 and 2010, its the same shit, a few little shifts, just a different year.

I get what you're saying... But the very bottom line is, from my perspective is.... What would I rather have, $200 or some people I've never met on a website have an mp3? :D of course I'm going to go for the first option!

The 2nd highest bid could be $190, so the extra $10 isn't much considering what you've gained.
Tbh, did you really expect coming on here advertising the tape for you not to be asked for a rip? The comment about "giving people you've never met before an mp3" is un-warranted imo. You're quite happy to come on and sell stuff to those people, gaining publicity and increasing the money you will make. Give something back like most other true fans and members do. People will remember...trust me, eps when you're after something yourself.
I'm not actually that bothered about hearing it. Yes it would be nice, but not that fussed. But how this has progressed has made me feel I had to post about it.

Lol, that's funny. :)

I came here and posted on this thread because I have things for sale. That's what this thread is for, "gaining publicity".

And I'm not a true fan anymore, if I was then I wouldn't be selling these tapes. I used to be die-hard, but I'm not now. So I don't feel I should "give something back like the real fans" for posting some things for sale on a thread that was created for doing this exact thing! Lol

anyway, I'm sorry if I'm upsetting people by selling a tape. Personally I think alot of people on here love this site more than the band, relax guys.

Im sure people would be a lot more relaxed if you had never of offered to upload the tapes in the first place, that was your mistake.
You have to remember you are dealing with hardcore fans here, and the tapes you have will probably never be seen for sale ever again.
So whilst i respect your decision (whatever that may be, you seem to change your mind every day) i also understand why this would wind up other members.

And anyway, that guy on ebay only offered you £160 for the Leeroy tape and it will sell for more than that so if he isnt the winner you may still be able to upload them!

Whoever misses out on the Leeroy Damned Tape let me know, I have a mint copy only played once and will either sell it via P.M. or stick it on eBay once this auction has finished.

I will of course take pictures of it if needs be and refrain from ripping it and posting it up.

ahah, that will lower the winning bit. supply and demand rocks, doesnt it?
also weird, after so many years, most of us never knew the existence of such tape, or been reported on wiki promo sites. now theres two, wonder how many will pop up from now on.

I'm waiting to see when it ends how much it goes for, i did say whoever misses out let me know.. meaning when its sold and considering the price its at now it could go much higher as there are a few bidders.. but then there are 2 tapes so ill take the second bidder rather than try to undercut anyone or anything like that

I've mentioned the tape on here about 6 years ago and on Nekosite prob in the late 90's

Well well well... To those people who were saying "upload the mp3s here, a true collector will want to buy the tape anyway".... You were so wrong!

I've been asked to sign a contract saying that I won't upload a copy of the tape before or after I have sold it, otherwise the buyer will retract all bids. It's looking like this Leeroy tape will go for £100 +.

To those of you that are probably going to start 'bashing' me because of this, saying it's a cop-out and bullshit or whatever, I'm more than happy to send the conversation on to you that I've been having with one of the bidders, minus the identity of the bidder of course.

So, like I said in an earlier post, if you want to hear it, bid on it!

That being said, I'll still upload pictures of the minefields tape this weekend.

Cheers!

Surely it depends on who wins the auction? You've had one bidder say they don't want the mp3 uploading. Maybe another bidder won't care. If the winner doesn't want the mp3 uploading then so be it. If that turns out to be the case I hope they get visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve.

Anyway "Piehands", have you compared "Head Rock Beats" to "Head Rock Dub" yet? If they're the same track I'm not bothered about hearing the tape.

No, it's not. It's thread stared by collector and for collectors. Not for advertisers.

As for your attitude - for me it's your choice. Some people may be cd-touts like chopper and value money over everything else. For me it's just sad, but why I don't care? Because I'm not the one who is the-sad-guy ; ) Relax guys.

My opinion is that you're writing all that stuff about not sharing the tape to get the price higher. After all bidding hasn't ended, why would you say something like that? That guy that you say told you so, hasn't bought it yet and maybe he won't after all. So there isn't any purpose to write this BEFORE auction ended.

You do all this only for publicity of your auctions, that's my opinion (as if anyone cares anyway).

And about hearing the tape, i totally agree with rsshawn. It'd be nice to hear it, but i don't bother if i never do. You could add it to discogs.com at least.

Also, chopper STOP spamming. You are posting your auctions in every page. Next time you post the same thing, it'll be deleted. No extra warning whatsoever.

If I won the tape I'd share it, without hesitation, it doesn't devalue the item whatsoever in my opinion.

I have to agree as I have loads of collectable items from tons of bands that still hold value but are available everywhere as Mp3's, my whole UNKLE collection is a testament to that

I really don't think that sharing or denying to share an mp3 would affect in a positive or a negative way the price of this ITEM, for the simple reason that the mp3 has got "zero" value compared to the value of the original tape.

It's clearly a collectors thing and I don't find any "vicious" purposes here.
