I've recently read in an interview dating back from the In Silico release ( here) that Rob went to vocals to create a more consistent sounding album... which is exactly what I don't like about normal rock bands and their music
I don't like to hear the dull and repetitive combination of a same person's vocals, the same guitar, same bass and same drums for the full 60 minutes of an album. I like when some tracks can stand out from the others, which is why I like different vocalists and electronic sounds into the music, just like The Fat of the Land for example, or an album from the Chem Bros, or many others. even IMD, which focuses only on Maxim and Keith, ain't repetitive, because some tracks use samples instead, and each vocal is used a different way (Omen ain't Run ain't Piranha)
so Rob ain't got an interesting voice that much, though it seems I can stand it because it ain't what I focus on the most. also, I hear you guys criticize the fact they use the same d'n'b rhythm again and again [ B...S.....B.S... ]. this ain't annoying me that much either: think of house music, which is used by so many people, many tracks can be very good even with a basic rhythm (Chem Bros again) if it's not important part - though a couple aren't. and Pendulum is maybe the only band I know (and/or listen to) that uses this rhythm that much, so its ok with me
overall, I can do with Pendulum, they do quench a bit of my musical thirst, so I'm OK with saying I'll give listens to this album and parts of In Silico too. I don't think what they do is long-term mature music, that's fine. but on the originality and creativity side, they do waste a lot of potential: where are standing out tracks like Plastic World and Tarantula again?

hahah really?? I didn't know that...well okay he needs to stop singing and focus on the production only not that he can't sing - he can but his vocals remind me of all that neo metal bands...
