Earlier broadcasted:

Thunder Dubstep
Warrior's Dance

And since i know many of you are dying to check out Thunder Dubstep from TV, there you go before i go to bed:

Code:

Quality of NED3 wasn't the best, it needed more bitrate in my opinion and i had some reception issues as well (1-2 glitches on each track except tmtth)

I hope the NED3 HD capture i'll get later this week will be better

Just got home from the gig. Great gig, same setlist without Spitfire and this time Their Law was before OOS. People went nuts, massive pits everywhere as soon as WOF kicked, circle pits, and even wall of death during Warriors Dance.

The guys seemed to have a great time on stage and I've never before heard Rob so much during a gig even during breaks. Loved it! I recorded some stuff including the wall of death and a new link/intro before Firestarer which seemed new to me and it had some space invaders/spacy sounds. Have to check the quality.

Looking forward to seeing the TV footage, 3FM played SMBU and Firestarter when we were on our way home :) And don't worry that you missed the gig on the stream because they did not allow it, only when they were live on TV (NED3) it was allowed to be on the stream as well.

It was amazing! Keith looked better then the day before in Düsseldorf were he only was on stage for about five songs. Can't wait to see the recordings and their next concert ;-).

My girlfriend and me went to see The Prodigy at Pinkpop yesterday. It was raining almost the whole drive and the weather predictions weren't to positive.

Image

We arrived at 16:30 and parked at the press and guest entrance, from where we could already see the main stage where The Prodigy would perform at 21:15, closing the festival weekend.

Image

I was on the guest list for the band and got artists wristbands, so we were allowed in all areas. We had some drinks and a bite to eat backstage, after which we had a look around the festival terrain.

Image

It stopped raining and slowly the sky cleared up.

Image

The Pixies were on before The Prodigy. Once they left the stage, the crew had about an hour to prepare the stage for The Prodigy. Loving the background of the stage.

Image

The audience was warmed up with some dubstep and drum and bass. We were at the right section in front of the stage, waiting for the show to start.

Image

Around 21:30 the band showed up on stage, kicking off with Worlds On Fire. The little tweaks which Liam Howlett has made to this track make it sound better live than on the album. The crowd, who had been waiting for about an hour, went nuts. Next on were Breathe and Omen, well known by the fans, so everybody sang along. The band was in good shape and really got the crowd moving like wildmen. Poison got a Piranha treatment from Maxim, just like with recent shows.

The dubstep version of Thunder was played. I had resisted to listen to recordings of it from previous shows, as I really wanted to hear it in person. All I can say is that it is massive, that it got great crowd reaction and that it was the absolute highlight of the show in my opinion. Liam Howlett told me at Lowlands last year that he wanted to release Thunder as a single, with a massive remix of Thunder which he had done himself. This is it and it is some heavy shit, which no recording will do justice to. It's an instant hook. Hopefully it will be released in the future still.

Warrior's Dance and Firestarter went by in a rush. Run With The Wolves has had some little tweaks as well and it was the second highlight of the show. It sounds good on the album, but it's a killer live track. Keith Flint spitting out the lyrics. The song was over too soon, but we didn't have time to be disappointed about it with tracks such as Smack My Bitch Up, Voodoo People, Invaders Must Die and Diesel Power ahead of us. I forgot the order of tracks. It was all just a buzz. We heard thunder, but there was no rain. ;)

For the encore the band did Take Me To The Hospital, followed by Their Law and ended up with Out Of Space. Their Law, which used to be played earlier in the show in the past, does fine in the encore as well. Liam Howlett had given it some little tweaks as well, making it sound fresh again. I still love this tune and it always make the crowd scream along: "Fuck 'em and their law!". The reworked version of Out Of Space has been around for some time now, closing the show. Last chance to dance and the crowd gave every last bit of energy they had. The band thanked the audience and left the stage.

Jan Smeets, the founder of Pinkpop, came on stage for a few last words regarding this 41st edition of Pinkpop. This year was the 21st time that the festival has sold all available tickets. No doubt The Prodigy is one of the reasons for this, as no other performance gathered more audience than The Prodigy did. They are a worthy closing act. The show was great, better than at Lowlands last year in my opinion. Thunder, Run With The Wolves and Their Law being my personal favourites of the evening.

We went backstage again after the show and had a talk with the band for a while, but they had to fly back home early in the morning, so we didn't stay long and left at midnight to return home ourselves as well. We had a great evening and we have enjoyed the show very much. Thank you guys for the wonderful show, it was a blast. See you at the next one. :-D
