I'm trying to find an effective method of cleaning my laptop's screen
Normally, I'd just spray Windex, grab a paper towel, and call it spiffy, but today, I'm being told that that method messes up the screen. Is this true, and if so, what's a better way to clean it?

I find the lens-cleaner solutions and a microfibre cloth from optometrists work well. The solution is not as harsh as windex.

Depending on what I'm wearing I'll use my sleeves to clean it most of the time, or, when I'm wearing tshirts, any other body part will do as long as there's a piece of cloth on it.
If it's really dirty, I use eye glass napkins, the moisty ones.
But what you really need, is a girlfriend. When taken good care off, it will clean pretty much everything and also do a number of other stuff that you will like. They can be useful for pretty much everything, you just need to look in the right places to find a good one, because there's alot of rubbish out there, that will just cost you a load of money and make alot of unwanted noises.

well if u look a page down you'll see i asked the same but for flatscreens.
i'll do a step by step on how.
1. get a Clean dry cloth, something thats fibres dont come off easy so they dont stick to screen.
2. get a teaspoon.
3 digg up about half a teaspoon of butter using the teaspoon.
4. put the lump on to the dry cloth.
5. rub the lump of butter on the screen Directly, if you see too much butter just wipe with a dry part of the cloth then repeat.
6. keep rubbing it in until you feel confident that its finished, switch it on, go on a white page and look for anything and then clean further if required.
might be too much butter getting used but it doesn't do any harm, on both my monitors, 17 inch flatscreen and a 24 inch flatscreen.
though if your not rocking a flatscreen tv then just use windex or even that mr sheen stuff, those big tv's can take it, well at least mine have.

hmm i dont have a laptop but i dont see why not, from my knollege flatscreens and laptop monitors are pretty much the same thing.
though i'd be careful though, make sure you don't get the butter inside the laptop or anything like that, screen only and you should be ok.
