As most of you are probably aware, Eminem's new album, Recovery has recently leaked two weeks prior to the release date. If you want to get the legal copy, it's released in the UK on the 21st June (with I think the rest of Europe being the 18th and the US being the 22nd)

I know Eminem's pretty mainstream and I'm not a huge fan of his new single (Not Afraid) but I downloaded Recovery with low expectations, and I've gotta say... I'm impressed! Only given it one listen so far but I'd say it's probably his best work since the Marshall Mathers LP. A few of the tracks even match some of the tracks on that album, in fact.

I'm sure there are some more people on this forum who liked his earlier stuff. What are your thoughts on his new album?

Turned it off after 4 tracks, worst I've ever heard from him.

Different production on this one, but very good! I like it. Feels kinda more "grown up" than the other albums! Really like the collaboration with Pink. Catchy 8-)

And the ruthless sampling of Haddaway - What is Love on "No Love" :-D

Yeah when I was younger I was a huge eminem fan and his earlier albums were SICK! My favorites being Marshall Mathers LP and the Slim Shady LP. Encore and everything after sucked IMO, and I completely stopped listening to his music. But I had a listen of this album and I was totally impressed! The songs were WAY better than relapse. I've been listening to the album pretty often recently, and that has not happened every since he brought out Encore. This album can not even compare to Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP and also The Eminem Show in its wildest dreams. It is still fairly decent nonetheless.

Yeah I can't stop listening to the album atm. I'm even more addicted to it than the new Chemical Brothers one!

At the moment, my favourites from the album include Space Bound, 25 to Life, Talkin 2 Myself, Going Through Changes and Love The Way You Lie.

Not so great parts of the album for me include the chorus in You're Never Over, Lil Wayne's part of No Love, and the hidden track at the end (it kills the great vibes that the album would otherwise end with!)

Ah... regardless of all the autotuned shit at the top of the charts lately, 2010 is proving to be a fucking good year for music :-D

Yeah those are some pretty good songs! My favorites on the album are Won't Back Down, Love the Way You Lie, Talkin' 2 Myself, Going Through Changes (and this song gives me the old Eminem vibe for some reason which is great!), Space Bound, 25 to Life, Almost Famous, Cold Wind Blows and I love the beat on You're Never Over. So all those songs pretty much cover a huge chunk of the album which is amazing! I really dig this album!

Gave it another go, not as bad as I first thought although I still think the beats are pretty weak.

Back to his old style spitting but I think I'm probably just a bit bored of Eminem these days.

Variety of producers on this album it seems

Works pretty well, beats are sick for the most part!

Haven't heard it yet.
But I really like the current single. So I'm looking forward to it.

Very disappointed buy the last album, so looking forward to hearing him at his best again. He had a hard time before the last album came out, with the death of 'Proof', the weight etc.

Despite almost blagging his whole rap success (not in the way that a lot of rappers talk about their life, crime, drugs etc from experience) he was very clever instead (as were the rest of D12) in creating the alter ego; freeing the imagination in his lyrics.

Looking forward to hearing him on his feet again.

Haha don't worry, that's pretty much gone now. I think I saw someone earlier say that in the last album, he was rapping as Slim Shady. In Recovery, he's rapping as Marshall Mathers. It's much more personal and has more serious vibes, which I think works better for him overall

i thought recovery was pretty decent, i've been a fan of eminem since the marshal mathers lp

after relapse, eminem confirmed a relapse 2 but then he started to work with other producers and instead some tracks for R2 got put on relapse refill, recovery is really different from it, theres nothing really offensive on the album, apart from the odd cuss and fag thing, nothing really psychotic or risky like he usually does, eminems near enough 38 now and i think he's almost maturing out of his previous works, when eminem started he was practically the first person you could hear on a cd talking about fucking pitbulls and raping the entire school swimming team, even relapse had its shares of psychotic shit in it that was fresh, but i can't stop but cringe when he said he'd "pee on rhianna, man i do what i wanna" and then he does a song with her.

the thing is now a days anyone can swear in a song and it doesn't sound near enough as good as how em did it when he first did, but the thing is its kinda boring for em doing that too, i know he's probably trying to evolve his sound but when you think of the stuff thats happened to him with his addictions it sort of makes sence why he brought recovery out, hell the hint is in the name of the album.

i dont think this is even on my top 3 list for eminem albums, relapse is for me because it was a New kind of offensive instead of just cussing because that was getting boring now, but now a days if you want to listen to offensive music you download Bizzare's 3 albums (Member from d12).

i did enjoy eminem, everytime he brings something new out i usually really like it, i've listened to it everyday for a while, getting everything in, i had a problem listening the first time, it just didn't sound right but after some listens it became an awesome album that had something to say for itself.

i liked recovery though and i still like it alot i'd give it a 6 out of 10, it looses a point because i feel the mastering doesn't sound very good on it, relapse had more of a Chaos to it in terms of mastering the tracks, i do hope though his next album will be back to the normal eminem, you never know till Next time!

There is the bonus tracks of recovery, one produced by Dr Dre and another one is a collab with Slaughterhouse, the dre one is great, kind of the new style of eminem i love ever since relapse, its called Ridaz
