I have musical experience in various different instruments and thought it would be a great idea to get music creating/editing software to make beats with.

Is Magix a good starter kit? This is what I want to get:

Well...yeah, for starters...either this or FL STudio (better, imo). But...why is this in the "Studio" forum?!

Ableton, Reason, SF, ACID, some plug-ins, some FL sometimes and that's about it.

i recommend FL Studio for begginers, its powerful and easy to use.

As for the "easy/hard to learn" DAW thing it's a myth..all these programs are based on the same things.Just download the demos and pick your favourite.

i know it might seem silly but i really dont have a clue how to work FL, reason is no problem for me though, i found it the easiest out of ableton, cubase and FL and sony acid (those are ones i've tried in the past) but ableton is good for the finishing touches, well its faster for me to use anyway.

I found after a while fruity loops can be a piece of piss to get a piece of music together, once you know how everything works

FL is a shit. Ableton Live for the win.

also i think that the sounds (but only after years of practice) can get quite professional
