Don't think so, but then again, I can imagine the whole conversation/argument that will follow:
Me: So what do you think, mom?
Mom: What the fuck am I watching?! Porn?!
Me: Uhh, no...
*stepdad comes in*
Stepdad: What's going on?
Mom: He showing me a video and wants to know how I feel about it. If I feel offended by it!
Stepdad: What kind of shit do you listen to?
Me: Electronica? The Prodigy?
Stepdad: Well you know what. This is the type of music that influences kids today. I'm taking your CD collection away!
Me: What the fuck? You can't do that! I bought those with my own money!
Stepdad: Well, as long as you live under my roof, you will follow my directions!
*goes to my room and takes CDs and DVDs away*
He's done it before....
I know what he's capable of!

Oh, yes! Definitely!
Thank you.
Just explaining all that should probably take up a page!
And then I have to give some background info about NOW and the Prodigy, and the Fat of the Land album.
that should take up about 2 1/2 pages!

Exactly my point! I'm sure I'll get it back eventually. I'm optimistic like that anyways!
Hmmm...getting in trouble for writing lyrics?
What has the world come to?!

So what have you written about so far?
The song?
The video?
You could write about where the verse "Change my pitch up, Smack my bitch up" came from, and how the guys "didn't see it as offensive" And you could also mention how Mtv was "the only one to play this song"
And did the Prodigy get a proposal from BBC to shoot another video, which the BBC would pay for which would be more suitable for BBC to play (or was it firestarter, can't remember )
Just some suggestions, I'm sure you have already used most of them

Thanks!
Got most of the stuff down. So far, what I need to add is background info about NOW and some info about the Prodigy, the Fat of the Land, and yes, that MTV was the only TV station that would play the video after midnight. Teacher says I need at least 3 Internet sources and 2 book sources., and luckily, thanks to very intelligent fans, I have them all!
Oh, and I'm also adding about the Reading Incident.

Quote: The Prodigy's 1997 single 'Smack My Bitch Up' has been named the most controversial song ever. The track tops a UK poll conducted by royalty collection and payment group PRS for Music, pushing the Sex Pistol's 1977 hit 'God Save The Queen' into second place. Ellis Rich, chairman of PRS for Music, said: "These results are particularly interesting as they demonstrate how the power of music can affect society. "Many of these songs have become iconic due to their controversial connotations and have influenced many movements in society over the years." The top ten most controversial songs were as follows: 1. 'Smack My Bitch Up' - The Prodigy 2. 'God Save The Queen' - The Sex Pistols 3. 'Relax' - Frankie Goes To Hollywood 4. 'Kim' - Eminem 5. 'Killing In The Name' - Rage Against The Machine 6. 'Ebeneezer Goode' - The Shamen 7. 'Suicide Solution' - Ozzy Osbourne 8. 'Get Your Gunn' - Marilyn Manson 9. 'Angel of Death' - Slayer 10. 'Dear God' - XTC http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/ ... rsial.html

Stand Up for what you like, for what you love. You are the law. You can say that everyone that looks away from that video is a hypocrit towards the real world. Protect the stuff you like... there should be noone to take away certain things. You're in your teenage years... everything you experience adds to the width of your view. Smack My Bitch Up Video, to me, was an important video to show that not everything is nice and normal. There is an underground, dark world around us... if you don't learn this at a young age, you'll be interested in it later... in the wrong way. Your stepdad doesn't know jack shit about what's important for young people. Education, honesty and learn how to see difference... those are things that matter. Show them the video and tell them what's so important about it. The controversy is there because certain people want the real world to be censored. They should shut their fucking mouth and look around sometime, in a less narrowminded view. You can decide for yourself what's right or wrong, to yourself. You'll get to know all the good and bad things about society, even by videos like SMBU. It provokes your way of thinking... it challeng... what the fuck am I on about? Kid, you decide your own level of interest in certain things. Someone takes your interests away, you'll be hanging on the street in no time, taking drugs beating the shit out of people with a chair on the dancefloor. Grabbin' tits of whores, driving a car total loss. And blame all that stuff on a shitty childhood, thanks to mr Stepdad. Fuck 'm. And their Law.
