Yes, and now they mostly play what always rocked for both them and the fans + flirting with current electronica scene :)

Never in a million years would they make a dubstep album! It doesnt fit in with the energy that they produce and have produced over the years! It would never work in a live setting as the energy and vibe wouldnt be there! Granted there may be the odd influence and the odd wobble bass line but thats all you'll get!

Liam is about pushing it forward and not doing what the masses want! He does his own thing and makes his own rules! He will never change the attitude that has held him in good stead over the past 20 years.

I'm not a lover of dubstep, its to ruddy slow for me and i find watching people dance rather funny as its like watching a video in slow motion but each to their own. People looked at me like i was mad when i catched on to the boys 20 years ago! However i know i will fall in love with what ever Liam conjours up for us when it drops :-D

Bring the madness and bring the noise!

TBH every album has a sound very much of it's time, it's not really a simple as this but for example:

Experiance - Rave
Jilted - Techno
FOTL - Punk Rock Revival/Hip Hop
AONO - Electro/ 80s Revival
IMD - Rave revival/ Punk Rock, id say kind of an Experiance/ FOTL Mix

Liams always experimented a lot with remixes for other artists between albums in the past, just look at for instance the Everybody say love and Religion Remixes. These two really are a test bed for some of the ideas displayed in Jilted. Release yo'delf had some elements which resurfaced in fotl. Even Maxims Scheming had a Garage style beat that was programmed by Liam.

Now we know that Liam has been playing around with Dub step elements for some Live tracks, (which to me it seemed most people were into).
Maybe elements of this will continue onto the new album , maybe not.
Whatever happens the one thing to realise is whatever styles or influences Liam has when writing a new record is that, what comes out at the end will surly be unmistakably Liam and unmistakably Prodigy.

I know for a lot of folks Dubstep can seem cheesy and annoying. I personally remember the "OLD DAYS" back around 1999/2000. All it was in the charts was Nu-metal, cheesy garage and pop crap. Before youtube and many sites where you could find less obvious and more interesting music. Nowadays its so easy to find Artists in any and every genre (including Dupstep), producing tracks that push the boundaries of that particular area. For this reason i think it's a bit silly to write off an entire genre just because it has gained a certain commertial viability.

It has always seemed odd to me how dance/hip hop related genres are so fragmented and catagorised. Everything seems to have a very short lifespan before the majority declare it 'tired' and 'boring'. It's the mirror image of Rave in the 90s, same reaction.

Best thing about Prodigy and the reason i have been a fan for nearly 20 years, is they dont catogorise themselves or their music, they take elements from everthing and make it their own.

ps. sorry for ranting

He won't! Maybe there will be 1-2-3 tracks, but all 10-12 track will be different from each other just like on all their albums.

And even dubpstep tracks will be with awesome prodigy vibe. So no worries!

;-)

I don't mind a small dub-step influence, because it would be something new for Prodigy, and Prodigy always take something and make it a million times better...

Sometimes I think the fans on these boards actually convince themselves they KNOW what the new album is gonna sound like....

just wait. remember how unexpected that live recording of Warriors Dance and Worlds On Fire sounded? Yeah....expect the unexpected really.

all the few song filtered from the album are always fresh like you said WD and WOF and IMD which I had to listen almost 10 times to appreciate it. I remember when I heard for the first time girls and memphis bell 2 month before the release date I thought OMG that's totally different so I agree totally with you dims expect the unexpected (good album title indeed) :P

What if they do make a dubstep influenced album and they kill the dubstep scene? just like they did 20 years ago when Charly killed rave 8-)

I want them to make a few Dubstep tunes ONLY if it sounds as heavy as this motherfucker :

Dubstep as a slight influence is probably what we might hear. Nevertheless, something challenging the current scene would be a show of balls? :)

i think the whole dubstep thing is a red hering.
i have a very strong feeling the new album's gonna be about liam discovering omen reprise-like pads and electronic strings and stuff built around fast experience beats.
