I strongly disagree on this, and thereby rest my case. I also think Prodigy being a support act is nice for now, but to me wouldn't have made much sense 3-6 years ago.

Prodigy were asked by Linkin Park, maybe they weren't asked 6 years ago, or maybe they had conflicting schedules 6 years ago. I think Linkin Park get too much hate on this forum, I actually like Linkin Park, ok so I obviously like Prodigy a lot more, and some Linkin park songs on the latest two albums are very poor indeed. However I do like many songs off every Linkin Park album, the first two albums are classic solid fusions...
Linkin Park tried something new with the latest two, and by new I mean new for them. It doesn't totally work if you ask me, I wish they'd go back to more the style they were, but then you have songs like When They Come For Me which is basically telling fans that they won't be monkeys and do what they're told, I gotta respect them for that. That song has a great beat too...
Unfortunately the new material is less energetic so in a live environment it will be pretty boring, and that's where a lot of the problem is. Linkin Park have never been a good live band if you ask me, but when they were just playing stuff of their first two albums there was a lot more energy and it would have fitted in with Prodigy more for that reason. Now it's no wonder the crowd barely move...

I'm guessing that the reasons are for the support slot were,
1. Its a nice pay day for a few shows!
2. The next Prodigy album is going to be given a major push in America by their own label as well as the American label!
Gigs over now apart from a few festival shows which they may use to test out some ideas! Just hope they get the rest they need and they get back in to the studio and prpeare their next masterpiece.
Also a couple of low key gigs here in good ol blighty would be much apreciated Oh and if anyone inside Prodigy HQ comes up with an idea to bring out a dvd / bluray all the better

omg i never could said it moar accurate. +10 from me
btw STILL LOVE THE PRODIGY - MY LIFE BAND

i said it would have been nice 5-6 years ago because the lp fans were more rock oriented back then.now it seems most of them are little kids and pop fans who need something heavier.they have lost much of the core audience/fanbase starting with MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT.they do still have good songs on the last 2 albums, but they are few.
on a side note about When They Come For Me it's unbelievable for me it gets so many plays in their set cause it doesn't have that much energy live.i mean this compared to Hit The Floor who was only played a couple of times and was much heavier.oh well
this is turning into an linkin park thread.
by the way i'm curious how many albums prodigy sold in the u.s. i mean Invaders Must Die

The album debuted at #117 in the US but jumped to #58 in its second week. from wikipedia.
I cant actually find the sales of IMD in the US but i'm taking the above to indicate that it didnt sell to well in comparison to FOTL out there!

I was curious to know if these recent Stateside shows with LP gained any more sales for IMD.

All I know is the sales were still a hell of a lot better then AONO. And a fan can find the album in almost all stores that sell cd's. The few stores that are left that is. lol

that is true, i did see the new album in a lot of stores in my area.
i was part of the street team, stuck stickers around and shit
i gave my local FYE record store manager several promotional posters
and she did this cool thing with them in a frame and hung it up in the store
it was nice to see, it was right in front and it was just like bam "THE PRODIGY!"
still got a bunch of promo material
