Every new is the very forgotten old :)

This will be a pure piece of art I am sure. As much as I belive in Liam actually being capable of a lot more even if he is "40" as some of the forum members claim, I am sure Scott is till capable of going back to being young in mind again. The strongest and less compromising ones are the ones doing history, even if they sometimes lose their track because we are all human. After all.

way too many references in your post ;)

I somehow agree.

Ridley Scott ain't someone to mess with on set.
He's the type of guy you say Yes Sir to when he asks... uhmm tells you to do something.

For a great way of watching Ridley work people should see some behind the scenes footage from Alien or Blade Runner.

He'll always be the KING of details on screen.

And after all these years he's a cigar smoking movie God... forever.
It makes me smile and smile because now on this moment on I'm 100% sure he won't FUCK UP on Prometheus.

Get away from the booze man geez goodnight all.

Prometheus Latest: Space Jockey And Giant Head Pilot Confirmed
21 February 2011

Image

The mysterious 'space jockey' skeleton that appeared in the opening scenes of Alien is being designed as an eight-foot animatronic for the sci-fi thriller Prometheus.

And it's not the only weird alien being designed by Ridley Scott, who is pressing ahead with his plans to depict a giant head piloting a ship, although that particular effect is likely to be CGI.

The movie was originally a prequel to director Ridley Scott's Alien, but has since developed into a project in its own right after Lost creator Damon Lindelof developed the script.

But while Scott and Lindelof attempt to distance their project from the Alien franchise, it seems the "Space Jockey" will appear, alive and kicking, in the movie.

There has been a huge amount of speculation over the past months as to what will and won't appear in the movie, but an insider told Sky Movies, "I’ve had further confirmation that the Space Jockey creature is definitely in Prometheus and has been built as an eight foot animatronic.

"I’ve also had it confirmed that HR Giger is working on the project but only in an advisory capacity. By the way, people are going to be in for a shock when they sit down to watch Prometheus and there’s an enormous semi-human head piloting a spaceship."

It's not just the pre-production that's taking shape, as the casting department continue to find the right acting talent for the project. Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) look set to join Oscar-winner Charlize Theron on the set, while Scoot McNairy, who recently found internation success with his part in the low-budget thriller Monsters, is also said to be up for a role.

Once upon a time "Prometheus" was the "Alien" prequel. Then a day came along when poof, it wasn't a prequel at all. But there could still be some correlation between the Ridley Scott projects after all... other than the fact that Scott is behind them.

Word has it that the aliens from "Alien" (redundancy galore) will be in the film, but not in the same form that we all know and love. The zenomorph won't be that recognizable until it obtains that specific type of dog or human DNA in order to transform into the dangerous creature.

There's a bit more about the story that's been revealed where they say, "The film's setting is, in part, a planet that has been terraformed to create the perfect environment in which a particular bioweapon would prosper."

Director Ridley Scott is keeping his sci-fi “Prometheus” under wraps, but did manage to divulge the production details and more cast members for the film.

According to Daily Mail Online, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie have been added to the cast. They will join Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron in this mysterious science fiction film involving “strands of Alien DNA.”

All the cast members signed secrecy clauses and were only allowed to read the film’s script at Scott’s production office. Only one exception was made when a security courier flew to the actor’s location and stood guard while the screenplay was being read.

“I was insistent that the script not leak onto the Internet, where it gets dissected out of context, which spoils it for everyone,” said Ridley to the British newspaper.

He still insisted “Prometheus” will not be the prequel to “Alien.”

The film will start production in three weeks and it will be using James Bond 007 stage at United Kingdom’s Pinewood Studios and six other sound stages for the project.

The film is scheduled to be release on June 8 next year..

Is it the “Alien” prequel or is it not the “Alien” prequel?

Director Ridley Scott has kept the “Prometheus” script under tremendous secrecy to the point that the actors must travel to his offices to read the script.

In Entertainment Weekly’s interview with Michael Fassbender, EW hoped to shed more light on the film.

“It’s a different story, but it’s also got the traditional roots. ‘Alien’ fans will recognize things in it. It’s not ignoring ‘Alien,’ there’s still a link to that world. But it’s a different story. It’s definitely connected, though,” he described the “Prometheus” film.

As for his role, it was previously reported he would play an android.

“I don’t know what I can say!” he laughed. “I don’t want to get into trouble…”

The film will begin shooting in the next few weeks. It will hit theaters on June 8 next year.

There you have it—it’s not the “Alien” prequel. Sort of.

'Prometheus' Star Noomi Rapace Talks Character Details, 'Alien' Connection
7 March 2011

Rapace says her character is 'very much her own,' despite sharing similarities to Sigourney Weaver's Ripley.

Despite spin that "Prometheus," Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi flick that returns the director to his "Alien" roots, is not a prequel to the franchise he helped launch in 1979, some of the stars of the new film apparently beg to differ. Actor Michael Fassbender told us last month that the new movie shares "a definite connecting vein" with the previous films.

And now "Prometheus" co-star Noomi Rapace has seconded that assessment. When MTV News recently asked the Swedish actress about the definitive "Alien" connection, she answered, simply, "Yeah, yeah."

Yet Rapace emphasized that her character, a scientist named Elizabeth Shaw, is not some knock off of Sigourney Weaver's Ripley — the take-no-crap hero of the original "Alien" movies.

"She's definitely her own," Rapace said of Shaw. "She's a scientist and she's very bright and she's a believer. They have some similarities, but she's very much her own. I don't think people will compare [her] so much to Ripley when they see her. Ripley was a hero for me."

MTV News spoke with Rapace in January on the set of "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," a film that will mark a sort of Hollywood coming-out party for the star of the Swedish-language "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" films. After finishing up work on "Sherlock," Rapace was anticipating beginning "Prometheus" in March for a shoot that could run into the early fall, ahead of a March 9, 2012, theatrical release. Before then, however, she and Scott have work to do in simply developing the character of Shaw.

"I have many ideas and he has many ideas, and now we try to find her," the actress told us. "I will step into her shoes in March and be here for six months, so it's quite a long shoot."

so scientist go to the planet where they find the aliens but in their natural form.so the movie is more about exploration and so on,but probably at some point a human will be ,,raped'' and the known alien will surface, but the highlight of the movie won't be the classic ,,alien hunting people picking them one-by one in a atmosphere full of suspense''..

thx for the nes

The lead role has finally been cast for the ever-mysterious Ridley Scott sci-fi film "Prometheus," and the person who bagged the part is Logan Marshall-Green. Not a huge name, right? Well he does a few film and television credits under his belt. He's appeared in films like "Devil," "Brooklyn's Finest" and also had a small stint on the television show "24."

He'll be acting alongside Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender in the Twentieth Century Fox film. Green will be taking on the role of Holloway, a crewman on the space ship and love interest for the female lead (Rapace). The script was written by Jonathan Spaihts with a polish of a script penned by Damon Lindelof. Principal photography is scheduled to begin this March.

Idris Elba teases 'Prometheus'
17 March 2011

Idris Elba has confirmed that he will have a role in Ridley Scott's upcoming Alien prequel Prometheus.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the Luther star - who worked with Scott on 2007's American Gangster - described the filmmaker as "majestic" and "like royalty".

"He attracts the best people to work with him, actors as well as film crews and so it's a joy to work with him," Elba said.

Asked about the connection between Scott's Alien and Prometheus, he added: "Prometheus is in some ways connected to that, yes. Is it in storyline? I'm not at liberty to say but I will tell you that if you can imagine a young Ridley Scott making a film like Alien (in the '70s), just imagine what he can do now."

Elba can be seen in the second series of Luther later this year.

Worthy points about Ridley. Just imagine... Yes, I'm trying. 8-) He got the year of the original wrong though and on two occasions. Correct year is 1979.
