Prometheus Trailer Arrives Online
22 December 2011
Nothing to do with Alien, eh?
Trailer week 2011, you've been good to us. The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit, and now this, the very teasery trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus - which is now live over on Apple.
Clearly hugely inspired by the original trailer for Sir Ridley's original Alien (love the title slowly appearing on screen and the eerie shrieks on the soundtrack), it contains our first (moving) glimpses of Scott's summer blockbuster, which seems to be on an entirely different scale to Alien, while providing some refreshingly familiar imagery.
Meanwhile, it poses more questions than it answers - just right for a teaser, eh? Who is that unfortunate Prometheus crew-member whose space helmet appears to be soaked in acid? Why is Charlize Theron running down corridors on the Prometheus itself? Is that Noomi Rapace, as lead scientist Elizabeth Shaw, screaming in agony at the end? If so, why so? Just what is Idris Elba looking at, and why does he seem miffed about it? And why does that spaceship, the one that appears to be crashing at the end, ring a few bells?
Overall, in a week where we've been spoiled with some fantastic trailers for next year's movies, this one may just be the best of the bunch. Wow. Just wow.

Epic trailer! Lots of great stuff there!
This alien spacesheep reminds me of real Bible story about Ezekiel and God's wheel which he saw few times, and try to describe. (Today's ufologists believe that he actually saw alien spaceship. Of course)

This is interesting, because story in first version of Alien 3 script says:
Aliens additionally exhibit a close proximity airborne virulent contagion. When exposed at close range, the victim, after a variable amount of time goes through "the Change" and becomes a form of alien warrior, the suspense being that the team does not know if anyone is infected until they find out when it is least expected. The process can be summarized as an involuntary change in the human's skeletal and muscular makeup below the skin, concluding with the newly formed Alien graphically tearing the flesh husk off of its body.

yeah i read that script, and the rest of them.it seems so cheap.ridley doesn't want to use to original xeno cause it's too tame now,but instead he is using human zombies in space.very original.i say human zombies cause that dude doesn't seem to be transforming into a xeno, just suffers some mutation.he aparently doesn't need air to breather in that hangar, and in the previews someone is shown climbing very fast, unnatural either the side of a vehicle,or the outside hull of the ship.
here are some pics from avpgalaxy. this guy could be the space jockey,i doubt it but we'll see.seems to be some sarcofagus on the floor.and the ships from alien and prometheus seem to be different judging by the design of the platform and the walls
by the way Blacklabel are you on avpgalaxy?

Hmmm, this "guy" is too big to be just human. His size fits in space jockey's one. It sounds bad to me if space jockeys are actually a big humans.
Ship chamber is little bit different, but i think that still can be the same one.

http://cinemart-online.co.uk/2012/01/07/prometheus-alien-head-design-information/
Quote: This is the description forwarded with image pending:
“The prop (organic looking design), in mould stage (white coloured), is a human skull with large eye sockets (slightly apart than normal) and what looks like another layer of bone having grown over it. The extra layer is in the form of what we know as the facehugger (without the legs). There is a trunk-like nose where the creature’s tail would naturally be in this position (or the appendage underneath used to lay the egg into a recipient). The prop is a prosthetic mask without makeup added, but the insider also said the creature featured in PROMETHEUS has been executed with very little CGI planned. The appearance of the mask is of a human skull with facehugger frame on top.”
edit. i reuploaded the pictures, cause it seems they took it down now.i can't access the site either, but this is the info

New Prometheus Picture Features Two Familiar Faces (Well, Not Faces Per Se)
14 January 2012
As well as Noomi Rapace, front of frame, this latest official image from Prometheus features two… well, see for yourself. Click through on the image to make it full size for a really good look.
So those are, in the terms of the new film, Engineers. They’re the same what-ever-they-ares as the Space Jockey from Alien. As I’ve pointed out previously, that’s not their body but a kind of bio-mech suit. We’ve even had a look at what they’re like underneath.
In the accompanying article, co-writer Damon Lindelof promises The LA Times that the film is going to be “epic in scope” and that he and Ridley Scott discussed David Lean a great deal:
"We wanted to make the movie feel big by having the characters be small in big spaces. That connected to the larger themes we were talking about — that we’re all just these little gnats crawling around on our little planet."
