Only if the content is housed on servers etc. on US soil.
Ive kept an eye on this, I hope the public discontent holds up worldwide, the govt here will usually sneek a bill thru once people stop protesting. Failing that- they will most likely enforce a 'regulation' without passing any law. Its illegal, but it happens often. If youre rich or in power here, you can do whatever you want.. SOPA has been renamed to the STOP act, so dont let them fool you..
Pinhead- your reply to my last post is valid and I mostly agree- and trust me, I dont follow the american supremacy bullshit. If you dont have the brain to look at things critically here, youre bound to go along with the population and agree with everything our govt. does internationally. Theres alot of people here that think an arabs life is worth 1/5 of an americans life. The largest segment of our voting population is the elderly- They lived through or witnessed what went on during WWII, when america rationed and lived smaller to help fight what Im sure we all agree was a worthy cause. They remember those times- and still strongly trust the establishment.
There is a small but growing libertarian movement among the college-age up to mid 30s here (im 30), very anti-war and non-interentionist (meaning things like SOPA would not even be on the agenda). Back to an age where america minds its own business- Just imagine if the money we spent on bombs was instead used to feed the starving in drought-stricen africa- or help out any poverty-stricken city in the world. Unfortunatelty, that dosent happen. If Tyranny dosent fully come in to effect here, I think a constitution-based change will happen, a change in the coming decades- its not going to happen any sooner which is sad. These things take time to grow.

make lobbying illegal. i just read about warner sending a letter to a congressman telling him that they won't support him anymore, give him money etc if he doesn't vote for the law in the current form. you guys don't realize it maybe but this system is corrupt. it keeps your politicians under the thumb of private companies.i notices something in america, you always are arogant towards europe calling us socialists like this is a bad thing. this while you are capitalists. form what i learned so far, while europe has a social way of doing things is pretty much driven by capitalism. instead america is corporationist, the citizens only exist as a mass of consumers, not humans with rights

I recommend to read the book or watch the movie 1984 by George Orwell. You will see the parallels with this and remember Big Brother is watching.

we are all in it, the camera on your mobile is not controlled by anyone but us, but by uploading stuff we give 'big brother' a shitload of info and it costs them nothing. they dont need to put an 'eye' into your bedroom, you do it for them

let me tell ONE thing. about "stop downloading music". i will do stop that if 2 things come true:
1 - every single music cd that releases will be available in every single country
2 - in every single country every single music cds will be available at a price that every single person can afford
i believe most ppl (but not all) would stop downloading music and films if these would be true.
BUT
the sad facts are:
1 - i wish to buy "the day after" by pzychobitch for instance. can i do that? not really. i go into a cd-shop and they say: we dont have it. can u order it from abroad? yeah, and they say a price that is just unbeliavable.
2 - there are countries where u have an average job, u work 30 minutes and u are able to buy a music cd from the money u earned under that 30 minutes. here, an average cd is about 4-5000 HUF. u need to work one WHOLE DAY to earn that amount of money.
so what the fuck are we talking about???
if i tell this to sopa what are they going to tell me: well boy, then dont listen to that album.
well, fuck you too.
truth is i wish to buy a lot of music cds, but they are either unavailable in this country, or even if they are they cost way tooooooooo much for an average worker like me. so what do i do? well i dl them and fuck it all.
there is for instance Tiesto - Magik 5 album. I like that a lot. i went to a cd-shop and they had it. it is an album of ONE disc, in a SIMPLE plastic cd-case that u can buy at every damn shops. it is nothing special, not a limited edition, not something great. a totally simple packaged disc. what was the price??? it was 10 000 HUF, which is (today) 28 GBP. 28 GBP for a simple album????????????????????????? a friend of mine been to england not long ago and he bought it to me for 10 GBP. so please fucking compare 10 and 28 GBPs and then tell me not to download music........

its simple really, the film and music industry want to keep earning money without improving their service. its easier to send people to prison than to make cds and dvds available.
and one more thing, what the fuck did they think people will use highspeed internet for?
hey i have a terabyte hard disc and ultra fast internet, what can i use it for? hmmmm... i know ill take a photo of myself and send it to my girlfriend 10000 times a day. that way i can really utilise all that storage and speed. it would be wasted to fill it up with mp3s and dvds of great free music and movies

100% agree with ©@rm4g3dd0n. same thing here. CD single? WTF is that. you will never see that in a record store. only one, long time ago have, but very expensive and they don't bring anymore.
"Prodigy??? hhmmm...who? Prodigy, Mixmag No.1 dance act of all time. What or who is Mixmag?? ...NO, don't have. Chemical Brothers? and them, who they are? never heard"
This is the conversation in 99% when i hit a music store )
in same cases on some sites you will find only albums at enormous prices
@ ©@rm4g3dd0n i like a lot Tiesto but Magik 6 and Parade Of The Athletes

the shit I like is not in the record stores around here and if by some chance I do find it the price is to high. I could easily spent my monthly wage to get a few cd's.
Last cd bought was new red hot chili peppers album that was 19 euros.
until they pull the plug on torrents I'll keep getting my stuff like that.

my all time favs are Magik 5, In Search Of Sunrise 5, 7 and part 6 too, but only disc 1.
btw can i ask where do u live? i mean, in which country do u sit on clouds?
