^that remark was actually from the Martin James book about the cover
With all the furore surrounding the CD booklet quote, the front cover image - of a crab seemingly sticking two fingers up to the world, as the background rushes away at speed - was almost overlooked.
pg 187

This is a rare moment where someone who was heavily involved in the band's previous art direction has decided to share stuff with us, and some people have the audacity to rip him apart?
Come on guys, it really doesn't hurt to be a bit more courteous.

Ok ok. This is now completely different meaning.
But this is what MJ said, I believe that there isn't any meaning/message at all.

Well Guest01, if you want to know the real meaning behind it, you have the man behind it right here for the asking. I think you're looking way too much into my comment, man.
I agree with you Aquila, it's amazing how rude people can be for what is a great opportunity to get some incite into the album artwork process. This guy was a part of Prodigy history and people are slagging him, it's quite shameful. These boards can be pretty disheartening lately.
This guy is a pro, show some respect!

designedforlife wrote: Guys, thanks for support. I was a bit taken aback when I first posted. I've never really posted anything in 15 years to Prodigy boards and this one is the best by the way. A guy I know callec Danny Cookney who is a writer on the music industry suggested I post the kebab cover so I did. Didn't expect to receive abuse for it though! See his blog here if you're interested in sleeve art: http://plasticcircles.blogspot.com/2011 ... nkins.htmlFor the record, I prefer the crab cover, it was designed at the last minute and I was faxing the image across to Liam at midnight I seem to remember for him to approve. (no email in those days). I'll dig out some other stuff and post when I get a chance. Cheers.
So, were you responsible for the original Smack My Bitch Up cover design with the Beetle and if so, could you post up the artwork for that?
Thanks.

Yeah the original SmBU VW beetle cover would be sweet
See that you were involved with the Firestarter and Smack My Bitch Up singles...
But not the Breathe single?
Any other abandoned Prodigy art would be greatly appreciated
Like for instance Mindfields single was binned, but curious if they were working up ideas for it before officially being shelved.

Yes, I've seen the beetle, thought there was an actual finished cover though. Cheers, Nightmare.
