"According to French site DVDenFrancaise, early details for the Prometheus Blu-ray point to an October release, along with an Audio Commentary and 20 minutes of deleted scenes."

Previously unseen scenes is the same thing as deleted scenes i.e. scenes that where filmed but not used in the final cut for whatever reason. With every major film usually quite a lot of stuff is left off in editing. Some scenes just don't fit the flow/pacing of the film and/or they're found to be completely unnecessary during the editing process. Well, I guess everyone knew that already...

or they could be simple behind the scenes stuff. you never know. But both ridley and rothman said this is the final version of the movie. nothing was cut, nothing was altered so who knows...

Yes, Ridley has the final cut. I wasn't saying otherwise. I was just explaining that a huge chunk of the filmed material always ends up on the cutting room floor (to use an old phrase). Films are really made in the editing room and usually a lot of the filmed stuff is left unused in the process. Some of the scenes end up more important than others – and vice versa, some scenes end up way shorter than planned and some scenes just don't fit the flow/pacing and/or end up being completely unnecessary. This is the case with Prometheus as well. Not all of the filmed material ends up on the silver screen. This does not mean that the end product is a compromise. It's just how movies are made.

I'd suggest you edit your post like I did above (leaving just the links) so that anyone who chooses can avoid seeing the very spoiler-ish images because now it's impossible.

LV-223
If I understand it correct, Alien(s) LV-426 is rocky planet, and LV-223 is moon around gas giant from same solar system Zeta II Reticuli. (something like Earth (or Mars) versus Jupiter's moon Europa or Callisto).
