the suits are the ones in the corridor and after he gets in the seat you see how it wraps around his chest and arms. after he gets the suit in the chair his arms look different. but this is how their body looks now. engineered to perfection during millions and millions of years

but there is a difference between the first engineer near the waterfall and this one, that's what got me into thinking that that was a suit (the waterfall alien has under wear, this doesn't).

That scene was happening some tens of millions ago,or even hundred million years ago, if that's when they seeded life. You also notice the different type of ship they use,
Now over the course of all this type the tehnology they use advanced, they have a different type of ship, different type of interaction between them and the tehnology. So they modified themselves, enhanced their phisique. If you notice the scene where the engineer wakes up from sleep, he has all these tubes that go inside his body. If it was just a suit it would make no sense to have tubes go into it. And look at the design in those pictures from facebook and dropbox. Look at the details in the neck and arms. it's no suit,just a natural transition between flesh and hardshell. Biomechanical all the way.

Personally i liked the fact they showed him at the beginning all natural,and now after eons all buffed up and evolved.

I could be wrong but I too believe it's a suit, a biomechanical suit that when put on becomes a seamless part of the Engineer's body. The Engineer who sacrifices himself in the beginning doesn't have any kind of suit on because Earth, or whatever planet they're on, obviously has a breathable life enabling atmosphere suitable for life engineering.

And you can say it's a suit, but look at the neck, it's natural, no freakin suit. and if it were a suit, what would be the need for a additional suit like the ones in the hallway and in the chair? If you look closely at the promo stills and in the movie the suits they find have normal boots, the arms and legs are seamless, no bone design, except on the chest. When we see the engineers they have toes, the legs have this weird biomechanical look, the upper part of the arms the same.

Imo my theory still stands, they engineered themselves that way, then when they need a suit, they put on the ones in the hallways.

Sadly i believed we will get a extended scene with the hangar fight, but i doubt it now. Cause probably they filmed that with this version of the mutant. When they reshot it with the new version they shot it different, shorter

It's biomehanoid suit, which is now part of the body and they probably can't take it off any more. Scenes from the beginning occur milions years ago when they weren't evolved into biomehanoids.

so according to this idea he gets up butt naked from the cryo - where is he's dick, then? they engineered it off, they don't need it in the future.
maybe in part 2 we'll get some insight on this, that is hopping Lindelof doesn't choose to ignore it.
