Bit my tongue for a while about it but honestly they are bad.

i thought the same thing about beat 55 and the other IMD beta tracks, but then you get omen, and its all good, i think they've just put it together much quicker and this is the result, its all very dry.

i think AWOL will end up on the album in some form, otherwise why would they be bothering altering it so much.

im hoping it ends up being a bunch of testers that relate much better in the studio versions, i think the IMD era stuff lost a lot of its energy when it came out on CD.. especially WOF, wtf was that?

There is no warmth, excitement or mind blowing aspect of any of the above. Core difference between 2008 and today is the amount of promotion of the new IMD tracks that created a buzz that no Prodigy fan seen before or since. Look at how many times we got captures of WOF live and the buzz surrounding Warriors Dance was insane.

Now we have shite YouTube recordings that promise fuck all. I really hope I'm wrong about the tracks and they may turn into belters if these are beta versions. But if anyone thinks that these 3 tracks are up there with the best then I will personally find them and chop their ears off.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately ..

I think the difference between now and then is the general direction Liam is taking. IMD was kind of a back to the roots, melodic, party album with such a great variety of samples.. I got into a lot of different bands through following up on the samples used on that album (the breeders, does it offend you yeah?, pepe deluxe, and A LOT more)

the direction now is less melodic, lots of guitar, and tbh.. boring samples. nothing has really struck me as "FUCK THIS IS GOOD SHIT" like when i first heard WOF, WD, OMEN etc.

maybe liam has a lot more up his sleeve for the album we haven't heard yet. i have a feeling its gonna be more of the same though.

It is sometimes unbelievable that this is the same man that created Music For The Jilted Generation

i just think we are in the really early stages of the new album...
like really early

listen to Liam's tone in that Thunder Dub video when asked about new stuff and it pretty much sounds like he wasn't even thinking about a new album at all yet.

Liam dig thru the crates and just upload some old demos or something onto to the site and people won't bug ya as much. If you don't have inspiration for new material at the time being, use it to create some breathing room.

maybe instead of an album, focus on an EP or something
give us some cut tracks or something... what happened to Dead Ken Beats?
that was a rocker... was suppose to end up on a single and nothing

AWOL is ok... i am kinda interested in hearing that alternative version developed further. but AWOL feels like its missing something.

Dogbite just feels like a fill really... doesn't go anywhere

Jetfighter, for me, is the most promising with a lot more work
it kinda has that old Experience rolling kicks... like Hyperspeed or something

but yeah, the new tracks aren't fun

i feel like we're back in the BGAT/pre-AONO era... but at least Trigger and Nuclear and Little Goblin sounded more promising. wish there was a copy of Dust Yo Self.

What the hell happened to Heatwave Hurricane?

It seems like a lot of these new tracks with get scrapped cuz of the heavy sample usage. Will Jack White allow them to use his riff? Will System of A Down let em use their vocal?

But like I said, I feel we're in the very early stages and lucky if we get the album by 2013

I think the new album will be released in 2013. Four years after Invaders Must Die. Dogbite, Awol and Jetfighter are track which are to mitigate our waiting and moaning. One or maybe two of them will be on new album / isolated single witch changes etc. I don't know why but i love Awol, both versions. In my opinion Awol is 100% finished track (little things will be added in final version) and should be released as isolated single. Something like:

01.Awol
02.Awol (Instrumental)
03.Awol (Version 2)

But this is like a dream and perhaps I expect too much.

Jetfighter is nice but i don't like the idea of I-E-A-I-A-I-O sample. Should be modified more or something. It is a very well known. Liam should look for the unknown / less known samples. And finally Dogbite. I did not like this track because of wobble sample. But now these samples are gone and I'm happy about it. In addition Liam has added some new little sounds. But generally Dogbite sounds unifinished. I have a feeling that we will hear more new material at Warrior's Dance Festival.

In the Spitfast video from Download Liam says that these three tracks may or may not be on the new album and that they have to go through this process of trying things live before deciding what goes in and what stays out (and also in what form... samples tend to move around in Liam's work)

I agree with a previous post that the recordings we have on YouTube are probably really bad. Obviously they can't capture the range of sounds in a Prodigy track. When you hear a track you already know your mind completes the missing parts, but for new tracks that can't happen. So I think before forming an opinion about a new track it deserves to be heard live or as part of an album.

petition for Liam to make a hard house track.

i just want dance beats PLEASE!!!

watching those old Experience era performances just fucking rule! Something about the rough beat, B-boy raver gangster vibe...don't need guitars&drums to be tough LIAM! Moog-rage!

You've got dance, party elements and beats on Invaders Must Die album. This album was kind of a return to Experience. Now it's time to return to Jilted and Fat. Heavy, Dark, Deep what makes me happy.

Aye!!!

It's about time they played something new with a bit of balls. These new tracks just sound like regurgitated IMD spin-offs. Fuck all this transitional period shite, they say they're in the zone making some great new tracks?

Let us hear them! .... Please?

I am really pessimistic about the prodigy's future, the new sounds don't thrill me at al... ok, maybe AWOL a little but I have higher expectations... IMD included, Liam lost his spark imo, the tracks sound so sterile, like that fucking high gloss polished rest :vomit:
I mean Dogbite, The White Stripes, that proves it, dirty and rough still works perfectly... let's try Meg White for a little drum sample

dogbite is one of the worst songs theyve ever written and performed, its just a really annoying painful sound..

awol is ok, but its probably written in 2007, which is scary

jetfighter was good for the first couple of plays, now its just ok, and sounds really lazy too.

but im sure what ends up on the album will be great, liam will blow his brains out before he releases a bad album, i have stupid blind faith like most fans

Maybe Awol was completely different in 2009, when Liam mentioned it? I think that he took title and vocals only and wrote a new track. For example he took some vocals from Mescaline and placed them in a Jetfighter track.

on the money, exactly what i think, i honestly don't know if this is the beginning of the end, if they are test driving these tracks constantly then they must half believe they are decent, in truth the sound Liam is creating is just so tired, and follows a certain formula, no energy at all, really really poor offerings i think..... the band suddenly feels very old and very out of touch
