I never owned a physical CD of FOTL (shame, I know) so it's a good opportunity to finally purchase it :)

Ahh, I don't need no remaster of FOTL.
Most likely this will turn out like with most remasters of (fairly recent) music from the age of the already initiated loudness war - too much limiter, to few air.
I bet it won't sound better than the original FOTL, how could it, it was perfectly engineered and mixed and is still used to calibrate soundsystems to date.
They'll just compress the thing to death and tell us "ahhhh, now it's beautiful, like all the other super loud music out there".
You don't hear the differences anymore, but at least it's loud loud loud.
FOTL was the last record to be kind of alrightly balanced as far as dynamics and loudness went, so everything that takes it further will just have negative effects on the ease of listen or what you wanna call it.

I'm mainly looking forward to the artwork.
Gotta say, I really liked some parts of the Noisia rmx of SMBU. Not everythings (the dramatic strings somewhere near the breakdown are shite), but all in all - nice track. Would spill my beer to that, probably.

i find all in all, remasters are bullshit. its all down to the opinion of one or 2 guys and doesnt make a fucking difference in the end (to modern tracks) because everyones system is different, do your own remastering, eq to suit your tastes and if you wanna slam the track you can do that too, but i really dont see the point, it was probably the best sounding album and relatively quiet compared to the mastering clusterfuck that was AONO (not to take anything away from that album musically)

remastering that is never gonna be make or break, just very slight changes that on most systems will be inaudible

wished we would have gotten the updated Firestarter live mix, but as a studio version. would have been a nice extra. Breathe is not that much different, but the dubstep bit would have been a nice bonus. Diesel Power wouldn't fly without sample clearance. SMBU isn't different enough really. They even switched up Mindfields for MK WDF. i'll always dug Maxim's vocals on One Man Army, but like the faster No Man Army (Edit)... but should have Maxim's vocals on it. if you watch the shitty movie that is Spawn, the faster vocal mix is actually used in the film. Plus you have that never released Skin track. Lyrical Terrorists. alternate Climbatize sans Perry Farrell's vocals. We Eat Rhythm. We Do What The Fuck We Want.

...just to name a few :P

Ghost Town is supposed to be on AONO reissue :)

The second CD with old B-sides and remixes from original singles could be more interesting then all this noisia and how-the-hell-cares djs crap.

Doesn't look like it. The 'added fat' vinyl comes with only 4 of the 6 remixes or there will be downloads available.

Still waiting on the official word from Liam and co. to know for definite....but that could be next year :P
