finally up...the gig was pretty good...they tweaked a lot of the standard trqcks with some new stuff but you will hear that in the recording...once i get back and have time to fix em up...the new song...the day sounded pretty good but maybe not yet the final version much as when awol, dogbite and jet fighter first came out

there was a dude in the lobby acting like a circus master dressed up in tux with a cane and messing with everyone as they came in talking about the end of the world...nice touch

i was bored shitless for the first three acts..didnt do it for me...maybe just impatience for prodge to come...most everyone left after the band played...funny...last act playing to much smaller crowd...not the spot to be in

my vid didnt work out that is to say that its new and i am not up on this thing but i think i have the kinks worked out...vid is not good from the balcony at least with this camera as i cannot focus closer and there was a lot of stage smoke so whenver the stage lights shined...which was all the time...i blurred out the entire stage...be good filler for lukuc if he can do a multi camera vid

i was a little worried on the balcony...everyone jumping up and down and the balcony moving and shaking...hope that thing has been inspected lately...look out below ;)

strange they let people have glass bottles from the bar...i would have thought the danger from flying missiles would be a concern

the security guys on the balcony were always having to tell people to sit down and move out of the aisle...the first five rows you must remain seated...which makes sense when you think about some drunk fuck falling off the balcony and injuring not only themselves but others...lots of liabilities and that would probably stop the show...so balcony security guys keep up the good work

guitarist/bassist kept on kicking shit...knocking shit over especially parts of the drum kit...like he was trying to take the mickey out of the stage guy who had to keep putting shit right

anyway...overall an enjoyable evening listening to a great band

let's hope there are some more changes and surprises...maxim did ask who was coming tomorrow so maybe they have some more tricks up their sleeves

one day two to go...thats number 18 for me...woohoo

http://www.standard.co.uk/arts/music/pr ... 24975.html

Quote:

Midweek raving is an acquired taste, particularly when the headliners don’t take the stage until after midnight. But if there’s one band worth missing sleep for, it’s The Prodigy.

In front of a crowd not comprised entirely of drug-shunning teetotallers, they rifled through the high points of their 20-year career as dance music’s chief antagonists.

If none of these high points have come during the last decade, it’s done little to dent the band’s live appeal: last night was the first of three sold-out dates at this sizeable south London venue.

It was easy to see why they’ve remained so popular; from the moment The Prodigy stride onto stage, they own it. With co-frontmen Keith Flint and Keith “Maxim Reality” Palmer bidding to outdo each other in the lunacy stakes, theirs was a set of unhinged brilliance.

Voodoo People, led by Palmer, whipped the crowd up into a frenzy with its manic, industrial beats and chant-like vocals. Not to be outdone, Flint launched into Firestarter, spitting out its demented lyrics like dance music’s answer to Johnny Rotten.

Perhaps most remarkable was how cherished many of these songs were: Omen was bellowed back at the band like a football chant; Poison cued pogoing right the way back to the bar. Even Jetfighter, a new song from their upcoming album How to Steal a Jet Fighter, was met with whoops of approval.

Thunder’s eerie, whispered beginning provided a brief moment of calm, but this was essentially music at its most uncompromising. Between songs, Palmer continually referred to the sweat-soaked audience as his “soldiers”. As for The Prodigy, they remain a force to be reckoned with.

It wasn't a new version of AWOL, it was the version they've been playing for a while but they cut out the middle of it, it just kicks straight into the darker part at the end a lot sooner.

Worlds on fire started at the vamp sample so that was a lot shorter.

They only played the Spitfast part of Spitfire.

The background was the Brixton Warriors circus style picture but had the text "Welcome to the scene of the crash" instead.

Also, the videos of The Day and Hyperspeed are on my Facebook, for those who have me on there. For those who don't, I think it's www.facebook.com/jamsandwiches

I'm so excited to see them tonight, anyone get the chance to meet them and know if its worth waiting after the show?

If anyone wants to see me, look for a nerdy guy wearing a invaders must die shirt (pink + black one)

look out for a guy like this (glasses or not)

Yes, and it's saying "the day is my enemy". This is one of the songs of the IMD era that Liam mentioned in some interview. Sounds pretty good!

so it is track Liam mentioned way back. and probably it's not going to be on the new album if they follow the rule they usualy do. at the same time why play unfinished version it, like testing it..
aahh, i guess pointless discussing it until we get new album tracklist or something.

anyone remember witch interview it was where he mentioned it?
