I may sound like naiivne prick, but it's second time they stated it now.

core tracks of the new album must be done and supposedly where done by time they first stated about playng new tunes in australia. (october)
source : http://www.news.com.au/news/trio-back-to-smash-it-up/story-fnejnl1p-1226497242550.

perhaps we can calm down bout those "new" tunes we heard in last two years. dogbite, jetfighter where prolly something they desided to drop from the new album in early stage and use for filling the live set.

and to wind you up one more time :

Quote:
Liam:
2013 we are just gona continue finishing the record and start hearing the tracks when we're gona hit australia in march, so from then onwards people will start hearing the actual tunes that are going to be on the record

Keith:
2013 is definetely the year where we are recording the music,
the ideas will be going down, they will be getting produced and there becoming alive, so people should be excited. the year and a half, two years of writing thats gone on, really firms itself up and becomes and album...

Maxim:
2013, thats when tunes are gona come for sure, that's all i can say, they gona come in 2013, so it's a whole big backage to looke forward to really,
something hard, something what is fuckin pure prodigy.

I'm still sticking with this thought and saying these 'new' 'old' tracks are for the live circuit for now and won't appear on HTSAJF.

Just hope I'm right.

congratulations. another 5 years for a new album. and when they'll release it, another round of'' we never left, ya know what i mean''. ''it's good to look in the crowd and see a new generation of fans'' and all the other bullshit

Fawgin' hell!... Then we'll have to wait until at least, the beginning of next year, for the new album to be pressed and released. Jesus christ... Give us some demos and unreleased shit, please! Don't care how "bad" it is, just give the fans something, while we f***in' wait...

PS: Sorry 'bout the swearing, but it's almost impossible not to.....being a fan of The-have Patience-gy...

i think, hope.. what they mean by that is ..

basic consept, sound is developed, most of the demos are written ( still continuing in some level) and now moving into more detail production level, finalizing tracks and then choosing right ones for the album ....(perhaps?)

how much will it take? i doubt they wana go back to studio when busy festival season begins.

I was pretty positive before the video now I'm thinking this is NO where near a coherent album. A total mess.
Just cut the bullshit already. If this album comes out it's the last one - they will probably release another live DVD and then call it quits. You just can't continue a band that puts an album every 5 years or so.

Big rant here from deep place in a Prodigy fan's heart. It's probably the only thing to do while we you wait. You have been warned.

Why is there such an urge to connect the tracks to just the live shows and an album? I mean, Liam said it in a written interview before: He could've written 10 albums instead of 5 but that would be just repeating themselves. Well, what's the shame in that? Every album is that damn original or unique or powerful, there's no harm in releasing a studio-only album with tracks that they won't play live. Why put tracks in the bin? Because they sucked live? Because the fans didn't dance and yelled enough? Do some Molotov Bitches, Climbatizes, Narcotic Suits and Weather Experiences? I wish I could ask this to them: Do you even enjoy writing music?

As a fan, I feel there's too much pressure to enjoy the process and release a tricky track every now and then, instead of binning what seems to be the majority of the tracks. If there's some anarchy to The Prodigy I'd expect some studio tunes to be just put on iTunes for the music lovers to listen to on the fucking bike, in the car, with friends... THAT is also 'live', people just listening to it and dancing in the fucking weekends. So much stuff goes into artificial highly concentrated few tracks every 5 years...

Writing music should be fun, some tunes won't work on an album or live. Doesn't mean they deserve to be just crammed on a tape in a cardboard box. If they enjoyed the studio time writing half a track, why not just slam them on an EP as a white label? Just share some stuff, you have fans now and always will have them, lose them and there will be no more fucking show. It's that simple. You HAVE to keep people excited, at least let them know you actually exist as a band and you do music. If there were no fucking nerds around recording new live tracks, there be practically nothing at all.

I understand it's a very intense job to tour, to live out of a suitcase, to do such intense and energetic shows... I have the utmost respect for this, I look up to it in disbelief that they keep on going and going. After that, you need time, you need personal life, you need to relax. But writing music in a studio with two mates SHOULD be relaxing. Maybe it's nice to let the people that care so much about what you write in on some of your 'fucking around with sounds'. As fans, we're pretty damn fucking sure we'd LOVE even that. Prodigy is that good to some of us.

We imagine the idea of a demo or two from the Jilted era or the FotL era, that would blow anyone of us away. Even just the idea... We love (at least, I do) Prodigy, that's why I moan, complain, bitch and even start to hate, disbelieve and even let go of it altogether. We're fans, we also move on. I know they want to deliver eventually, they just forget that a demo or binned track holds enough energy to keep us warm in cold days. People lose interest quickly, especially these days, as music comes from everywhere, all of the time. That's what will happen for sure if things keep going like this with promises that I hear about every few months.

Promising just isn't enough when you're in the position of being 'the best live show'. Sure, that hold immense pressure, but the shows will definitely be unaffected by B-sides, white labels, downloadable demos, youtube videos with some new material on top. It's that, or bin/stash the work you did. The work for such material already has been done... what's the shame? They have people like Dugdale & Amanda Ghost so I don't understand the timid behavior they have towards having some non-album/pre-album stuff floating around. That's also advertisement that they're actually not a split up band. Yes, people come to me and ask 'are Prodigy even together' and I just don't even know what to say to that... AS A FAN. I have to repeat myself over and over again and try to sound convincing in the process that there IS an album coming, '...really, there is'. Meanwhile there's nothing to fill the album gaps, nothing to be honestly excited about, the only thing we do is repeating vague internet wisdom. :?

The album better be special or there's no reason to continue as a fan(base - Warriors for fuck's sake) other than wank over fan made remakes, remixes, (live) reworks and even fake studio versions of future tracks over and over again. I'd be honored and ashamed at the same time if that would be happening to me, and that's NOT a good thing. I'd be ahead of that and make sure the people that wait get the RIGHT thing instead. Answering to the demand every now and then shouldn't be a problem. Oh well... I must be so wrong for saying all this.

Again, sorry for the wall of text. I love you if you read this, 'cause then I know we're still in the same fucking fan base army. Thanks for your time, I'm just sick of having unanswered hope. These are shitty times, because a lot of new experimental heavy/loud punch-in-the-face music is pretty fucking hard to find (and weak when found) to me nowadays. I, among many others I believe, need Prodigy to fuel the fire and be excited about new music again.
